Lana's message board is the defacto home for the #fictionmania irc channel. And before losing her hosting when the first fictionmania closed down, the site had an excellent collection of scans and stills frames.

I will be taking my site down very soon. Would any of you be interested in taking it over to keep it alive?

From: guest (nobody in particular) , 198 months, post #2
Maybe the Rachels Haven people could absorb the content in some way?

From: Lana , 198 months, post #3
I'll check that out, thanks. I have to admit, I'm dissapointed, I thought there would be more interest. ...*sigh,* oh well! I've pulled to plug on my forum (not much activity there anyway ) and the days are numbered for the rest of the site, so take one last look if you're so inclined .

It's been a lot of fun over the years. I hope you enjoyed it, I did.

i will miss your site lana, it is one of the few left from the old days of TG (which i like ALOT better than the new days of TG). But a few years back after crashing and/or moving a few times and a lack of updates I admit it sort of fell off my radar. I'd love to see it return bigger and better than ever.

  • sigh* I miss the old days when sites had movie pics, TG scenes, and gender transformation art of a non anime style where people looked mid changed haldfway through the sequence.

Lana,

As someone commented earlier, one of my big goals is keeping content within this community from disappearing. Thus far, these goals have been mostly limited to archiving content from dead or dormant web groups (Smartgroups and Yahoo! Groups), though I have stated before the goal extends to standalone websites as well.

I know from the fact that you posted the question that you want your work to remain for all to peruse, even if you don't have the drive to continue to maintain it yourself. Therefore, I would like to offer a place for it to be hosted. I will be honest that it may not
remain quite the same as it is now, as I have ideas of where to take it in the future, but
nothing will change right away other than where it happens to be hosted.

Anyway, if you'd like to talk to me about it some more, fell free to email me at rachels.admin@gmail.com. I'll happily share the visions i have for it in the future, and would also welcome you in the process of building on the foundation you have built anytime you want to contribute in the future.

Kisses,
Rachel :)

That sounds pretty good Rachel... I'll contact you about the details.

Awww, this is a shame. Your site was one of the first TG sites I found on the web, and still has a bunch of my fave tidbits scattered around. I just dug it back up on Google last week, for the first time in ages, to show a friend some images I hadn't seen in ages, while we were talking older TGs we liked.

From: Bodyswap1 , 198 months, post #8
It just won't be the same without her website around on the internet.

Lana:

FWIW, I hope you and Rachael can come to an agreement that keeps the content of your Web site from disappearing. I'm just one person, but from my time at the Rachael's Haven Web site, it seems to be a tip-top operation.

I remember sending you an e-mail when it was noted some months ago over on FM that you would be "pulling up the stakes," so to speak. I take it you never received much interest in the intervening months? Tis sad, since I (obviously) like TG stories with magical and sci-fi elements.

Yours in writing,

Solari

Whoops ... my apologies: It's "Rachel" and "Rachel's Haven" ... yeesh, and I'm supposed to be an editor IRL!

It's official, Rachael will be preserving the content and thanks for all the kind words. As for me, I will be undergoing my own real-life transformation. I'll try to keep in touch.

So with Lana's blessing, her legacy has a new home:

http://tgscifi.rachelshaven.com/

Now, in the next few weeks, very little will change. Dead links will be removed, a few pictures will change (such as the hosting stuff), but other than that, my team's plans for the site won't be progressing for a while. More on that as we get closer to implementing them.

I'd also like to thank Lana for granting us all the opportunity to continue to enjoy the work she put into this site for so many years, and congratulate her on her upcoming transformation.

I just updated the link on the entry and listing on the Links page to reflect the new address.

awesome site, espssically sence your the only one on the entire internet who has at least a clip of "Honey, You've Got Nine Lives." I have been looking for that episode for years. Too bad you didn't put up the rest, as I'm mainly a Animal TF guy. XD

As I said, Good Site

Farewell Lana, I remember your site well from my early days surfing the net for TG material. If I recall correctly the site used to have a picture of you in the headline banner.

Anyway, I'm glad it's being preserved - it's part of our TG heritage.

Since a decade or so :-)
That's by far not nothing!

Rachel, thank you, to keep Lana's Site alive.
