Have you tried downloading the VLC Media Player? I've had VLC media player for a long time now and it works great for any video I download off the internet.

Re #259: It's funny, but for someone who has been immersed in the computer world for nearly 3 decades, it only dawned on me what a "bump" on a thread was when I was playing volleyball sometime last year. Not that the term has been around that long, only a few years, just never realized it. Haven't had time to work on the new torrent too much lately. Hopefully by Christmas. Hopefully by the new year. Hopefully by MLK Jr day? Or Groundhog's day? We shall see. A lot of it is as much to do with motivation as available time. I already have it all. It's just how motivated I get to make it shareable with everyone else how much of my little available time I put into it.

Re #260: No worries. The thread stretches back over 16 months. Only about 1 in 7 messages or so is worth reading.or even relevant. If you're worried about malware, then you may want to invest in appropriate anti-malware defenses. If they weren't safe, I wouldn't have been sharing them out, and certainly wouldn't retain them on my own computers. Some people in the real world may even refer to me as an IT professional so I like to think I have an idea of what I'm talking about. (And FYI, I'm CompTIA Security+ certified.) I'd just use winrar to view rar archived files.

Re #261: Are you able to get sound and no video? That is the common problem if you do not have updated video codecs. VLC tends to resolve some of that, but you'll want to download the most recent DIVX codec. However, if your problem is that you're trying to play a file that hasn't finished downloading (which VLC is good for because it does play incomplete files so long as the data is there) then it won't play because the file is incomplete. I'm assuming you're torrenting and not just downloading the clips I have on my site.

Many thanks, I appreciate everything you do.

As of a few days ago, there were about a dozen seeds for the old torrent. As I had little to do this Christmas, I had some time to work on the new one. Step one of getting all the files onto the same hard drive to work on is done. Now it is weeding it down, removing duplicates, doing some renaming, etc. It's currently taking up 128 GB on my hard drive, and I figure about 30-40 GB of it are duplicates. I'm debating about removing a few items which aren't really transformations, or keeping them in for the sake of completeness. I'm also debating about chopping out clips of larger movie files or leaving them intact even if they're just a short bit and doesn't mean anything else to the plot of the movie. A little discussion on this might help me figure out which way to go.

It's a New Year. It'll feel good to clean things out. When it comes to clips, I prefer having some background instead of just being a transformation scene. Was it a magic amulet? Was it a curse? Knowing this makes them more interesting.

Clips from a movie like Leprechaun certainly don't need any lead in. The briefer the better in these cases.

Merry Christmas

From: Fish , 186 months, post #267
I would prefer to have the transformation in its proper context ... say, a short scene. Although if it's a short TF in a 2-hour movie, there's not much point in having the WHOLE movie.

Timber, thanks for the files links page that you set up. Much appreciated. You wouldn't happen to have Repligator, by any chance would you? I can't find that one anywhere...

From: Timber , 186 months, post #269
It's in the torrent. I never got a request to upload that prior to my cut off of upload requests. And it will be in the new torrent.

Anyone happen to get synapse to work all I could get was 75% of the movie?

From: guest (Pluutje) , 186 months, post #271
Downloaded Berta but I think this isn't the movie Berta.

Is your torrent almost finished timber?

From: Timber , 186 months, post #273
Actually, hasn't moved an inch since my last post. I figured I'd pause for a day or so and see what kind of feedback I'd get and 2 real comments in 60+ hours doesn't motivate me very much so I haven't gone back to it. (And this is 2 comments on 2 message boards and forums, the other one being #fictionmania.) So instead of a project gaining momentum because I figure people would be excited or eager and want to contribute feedback I'm soliciting to help, I get (almost) nothing like usual. I'm sure the holidays may have something to contribute towards the lack of comments. I've given up on it for now, choosing to goof off during the 6 days off I've got. I'm shelving the project again until I get motivated to work on it again. And of course, available time is always a factor which once the holidays are over, I will probably not have a lot of as usual.

The copy of Synapse in the torrent is broken and always has been. I did acquire a new fully working version that was to replace it in the new torrent. Berta was always known to be incomplete. Someone else said they'd upload a full one but that was a while ago so I'm not holding my breath.

Well, I can hardly wait for the new stuff on the new torrent. I'm traveling now, so don't have much time to check here for status. But Timber keep up the good work, and I promise I'll seed the new torrent at least 1.00 ratio, or beyond that.

From: Timber , 186 months, post #275
I've posted an informational update on my web site. I may have the torrent ready shortly if all goes according to plan. There are still links to the various clips I have online there. Once the new torrent goes online, I'll probably be willing to make clips from the longer material and put them online.

From: guest (Miss Pinky) , 186 months, post #276
I seeded the previous one for a few weeks, and once this new one gets going, I'll be leaving my computer on for another few weeks. Anything I can do to spread around the good stuff.

From: Timber , 186 months, post #277
The 2nd phase is (mostly) done where I removed duplicates and started on the general organization of things. The last phase is arranging everything into place prior to creating the new torrent. I put a few hours into it today, and if motivated, it will be done this weekend or sooner.

Why i tried to dl from fictionmania and i get this

The requested URL /entry/index.htp was not found on this server.

also i tried ur method to dl vlc player but it seems that that videos that i dl cannot be played by anything

i thank anyone for their assistant :)

From: Timber , 186 months, post #279
Post on the thread on the #fictionmania forum including what specific filename and link you are trying to download that you're getting the URL error from. That may give us a clue as to why VLC won't work, including if VLC will play other media files for you on your computer. We can't discuss that as much on this site as we can on #fictionmania.

From: guest (DC) , 186 months, post #280
So from the New Torrent - What are the top five videos/clips you are looking forward to seeing.
I can't wait to see it up and appreciate what Timber did and is doing.
