Hey now, I've got about 40 gigs left on my drive, so don't worry on
my account. The only reason I didn't start seeding your torrent
sooner was because I didn't have the data capacity. I like my
computer the way it is :-P
If I can torrent the new one as fast as I torrented the old one,
I'll probably be up and seeding inside of a week.
Assuming, of course, we all stay online.
Bodyswap- In highschool all they had available was BASIC
programming, which is a computer language that went obsolete LONG
before you were surfing the net. I'm self-taught.

I actually don't know how large the 2nd torrent I'd make would be.
I always end up with multiple copies of things on multiple hard
drives which would have to be consolidated and duplicates removed.
As seen in the first torrent, there were sometimes duplicate copies
in there too.
Any new torrent would have to start incredibly slow. The only
reason you got it so fast was due to multiple peers and seeders.
Reading back in the thread to find the general figures, after 19
days, I sent out 44+ gigabytes, and the highest peer was still only
at 85% completion. Even if the new torrent was half the size of the
current one, it'd still take 10 days or so at a minimum for the
first seed outside the initial one to form.
Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. I learned that
when I was 5 on my TRS-80. If that's where you started in high
school, you'd have to be self-taught since not many places would
teach computers back then.

One day I hope to become the best computer programer in the world
just like bill gates.

I hope you forgot to insert the tags...
Gates is good at making money, not at programming.
Seriously, I don't think you can become a good programmer by taking
courses.
You need to be interested in what is going on inside the computer
on the lowest level.
You need to read other people's code to learn how to write good
code and you need to practice a lot by writing small programs.
I started with BASIC at the age of 9 on an ATARI ST. Two years
later I switched to C and Assembler.

Well, did you find on the last page where they told you not only
the website to go to, but the forum ON that website and the poster
who posts the links to the torrents?
Its not hard.

Yes, all the links are dead. All of Timber's relevant PCs are
packed up.
You need to read for where to go to find alternate torrent info.
I'll give you a bit of help - check pages 9 & 10 of this thread.

Timber what codec do I need to watch the dr.jekyll & sister hyde
avi? I already have the Divx codec installed on my computer but
when I try to play the video it doesn't work?

From: guest (magma)

I didn't download that file but as you want to learn how to program
try this:
1. get a hex editor (try
http://home.arcor.de/mschierlm/sm-soft/jheditor-en.htm)
2. read this complete section:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa451196.aspx
3. google everything you don't understand and need
4. for the video codec tell me fccHandler and biCompression
5. for the audio codec tell me wFormatTag

What is fcchandler and bicompression? Is this the video codec I
need to watch the video?
|
From: Bodyswap1

The only reason it wouldn't play because windows media player says
it doesn't recognize or support that file. Do I need a different
media player to watch this video?

If it doesn't work in WinMedia, try running it on DivX or
Realplayer. When all else fails, try iTunes.
I havn't run across a file in the torrent yet that I couldn't play.

I personally use VLC media player (easy google search). It's one of
those that allows you to jump around in a file even if Media Player
doesn't allow it. If all your codecs are current, you really
shouldn't have any problems playing that file, especially since it
was probably encoded 4-5 years ago originally.
