You can see "Girl Bernard" in a very brief appearance in the movie's trailer. The character was called "Brevis" in Stardust the book. A very minor character. There's been clips up for the transformation (including the poit-poit of the bossoms dismissing the buttons) since before the movie was released.

I just watched the scene from the movie and the TG is very minimal, but for a mainstream movie subplot it's got some fun moments. There's the "poit-poit" scene, a shot of girl-Bernard staring at his chest, a shot where girl-Bermard is smiling/staring at Clarie Danes getting out of a bath, and finally, a scene where Tristan introduces himself to girl-Bernard and she says her name is (in a male voice) "Bernard".

Actually, I think the way this was handled in the movie was an improvement over the book.

In the book, the transformation spell ends and Brevis turns back into his original boy self, but still dead from a head wound. In the movie, Girl Bernard survives and reverts to Boy Bernard when the spell is lifted. But he's still the same clueless doofus at the mercy of events that he was before, so he's grabbed and hauled off by another villain. I thought it was more fun and more in keeping with the arch spirit of both the book and the movie than just killing the character off.

One minor peeve with the movie is how they changed the names to be more aesthetically pleasing. Tristram bacame Tristan. Brevis became Bernard. And I can't recall the Captain's name from the source, but it certainly wasn't Shakespear . . .
