I saw two clips of a movie that was about two Asian teenagers swap
bodies by falling into a big puddle of water. I was just wondering
if anyone knew the name of the movie.
Here are the two clips on youtube.

I believe that that IMDB link is correct.
Too bad I don't read/speak Japanese... or I could tell you more.

Tenkousei = "Transfer Student"
Sayonara anata = "Goodbye to you"
> its apparently made by the same director from the first one
If you click on the director's name at IMDB you'll see that in 1982
Obayashi Nobuhiko made the original "Tenkousei " film where the two
students switched when they fell down the stairs at a temple.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084778/
This seems to be a sort of "25th anniversary" sequel to that film,
probably updating the storyline to 21st century highschool life,
with different characters, different storyline, etc.
But don't be too surprised if, at the end, the two students learn a
valuable lesson. :)

The 1982 "Tenkousei" is currently listed as "Exchange Students"
here.
- kicks self for not translating it as plural in the previous post*

Exchange Students should now be listed by correct Japanese title.

According to the trailers and the official website, the film will
be released to theaters in Japan on 6/23/07.

Well, I guess that would make it significantly easier to find the
law-breaker if there are torrents for it before it's even released.

cj, the other day I tried to edit the two pages of the two films.
Maybe it didn't work, or maybe you haven't got to it yet to
approve. My suggestion was to include the year after the title of
the films. There's bound to be some confusion because of the
similar titles.

The only entries I'm aware of that are listed like that here on
Metamorphose are the "Freaky Friday"
entries - where there are three of them with identical names...
I'm sure that there may be a few others.
Since the two films are named differently, having the year released
in or as part of the title is unnecessary. It would also mean that
we would have to go through each entry and adjust it to match, so
that the format of all the entries is in the same format / has the
same look.
The year each movie was released is
listed in the entry... between the categories and the description.

It seems like there is a stereotype in Asian body swap movies about
how it's usually a boy and a girl at a private school who either
fall down steps or get struck by lightning.
Are there any clips on the net about that one Asian teen body swap
show where the girl and boy swap being struck by lightning? It's
not the After School one. I think there is a scene in which the boy
takes a bath in the girls' body.

Has anyone heard as to whether this movie will be released and
available in English sub-titles or a dubbed version?

i believe tenkousei either started that stereotype in Asian body
swap movies or made it popular, as there have been many films with
the same theme since it came out in the early 80's

The movie's not available on DVD yet (to my knowledge) but
hopefully when it is out on DVD, it will either have sub-titles or
at the very least, a dubbed version.
It will be out in the theatres in Japan in June sometime.
