Susan Smith book Changing Places
Gender | |
Teenage boy and girl get into classic "you don't understand my life" argument and switch places over night by computer "fairy godfather". Not a sexy story (it was written for teenagers) but not too bad. |

Two main characters argue over which gender has it the hardest.
They wish each other to see from their point of view and have that
wish granted by a fairy Godfather on a computer. Deals with how one
sex veiws the other. Some computer terminology used is outdated.
Junior High book.

Yeah - Teen book, maybe sub-teen. Kinda like all those made-for-tv
movies where each side (mtof and ftom) has to overcome "the dreaded
PE locker-room", dating, mom and dad (schoolmates, teachers)
treating them like the gender they appear to be - stuff like that -
you've seen those shows, right? The only half way interesting GS
scene is when the "new" girl picks up a bra out of "her" dresser!
Ha - good clean fun! This book is most probably in the TEEN section
in the book stores - it was in the used-book store where I found
it.

The book is well worth seeking out it is one of the better stories
done for the teen audience
The tg element is skillfully woven throughout the book the only
flaw, but one you would expect from a book written for a youthful
audience is a lack of physical acknowledgement by the
author/characters it's more on the level of hey, I'm a girl/guy Wow
time to get to school. What happens after is quite good, though.
the author's use of social situations, emotions and learning about
the opposite gender from the inside are admirable.
You should definitly enjoy it.
Maybe someday someone will post the parts the publishers refused to
allow :) or someone will write them !!! those parts deserve to be
told.

Excellent book, a must have! Each learns to be and understand the
other, a very enjoyable read.

Hey, I actually found a copy of this old treasure. Great story,
though I'd have liked it if the change was permanent. Oh well, well
done.
