Russ Miller book The Impossible Transplant
Gender
A dying man's brain is transplanted into the body of a gangster's mistress, in order to infiltrate a criminal organization.

Not a bad book, except that it has more flashbacks to the hero's fomer life than is necessary to the plot (they're mostly sex scenes). That reduces the portion of the story of the agent as a woman to a novelette. That part is quite well-done. The ending is also satisfactory, though not perfect; at least there are none of the usual cop-outs.

were the in the world can i buy this book

Did some digging, and being a 1972 book, it is not available currently from sources like Amazon or BN. Heck, even EBay is not showing this book. Possible you might find it in an Library, or more likely you could try a rare book store and see if anyone has access to it. Because of the age, it is also not available as an ebook either from the looks of it.

It's in 2 Southern California University's library's collection, which you should able to use InterLibrary Loan program to borrow it.....

The third library that has it is Alexander Turnbull Library - National Library of New Zealand at Wellington, New Zealand.

You can also check Powell's books from time to time. They don't have it now, but they get used books every day. They are the largest brick and mortar bookstore in the U.S.

I am surprised that the book would be in university collections, though I don't deny what people say. I found it by chance in a sleazy bookstore with a used section about 30-40 years ago. It seemed to be put out by what looked like a softcore press, would therefore attract little serious notice. I agree with the judgment of John77. It's an okay book, and the girl on the cover is cute. The story is self-contained, but the idea could work for a cop that get tg'ed and takes a number of undercover cases, such as the ones Sandra Bullock did in her Miss Congeniality movies.

InterLibrary Loan Program, or aka ILL, works within US library system, and with some other international/oversea libraries. You have to check your local library to see how long it will take, and they might charge a fee.

Never hurt to ask....

As for scanning the book and other thing, I might have the book, or part of the book somewhere in storage, somewhere. Just can't remember where I put that part of the collection......
