Review: Power Rangers episode Invasion of the Body Switcher
Power Rangers in Space episode "Invasion of the Body Switcher"
Female
A monster with the ability to alter appearances changes Astronema into Ashley, who sneaks aboard the Megaship. Later, Ashley uses the monster to change into Astronema to escape.
From: Random14 , 224 months, post #1
Just to mention, despite the title, it isn't a body switch, but involves a monster (called the Body Switcher, one of those typical 'witty' monster names they come up with) who can alter his own and others' appearances. The monster alters the main villain (Astronema) to look like one of the girl power rangers, Ashley, then they kidnap the original and Astronema takes her place. Later on, the captive ranger tricks the monster into transforming her to look like the main villain so that she can order a minion to set her free. Then the two disguised ones fight later on, Astronema gets blasted and turns back into herself then she retreats, monster attacks, goes boom, typical episode. At the end, there's the hint of a possible interesting twist where the girl ranger, before she takes off her helmet, is worried that she'll be stuck looking like the main villain, but turns out when the monster was destroyed everything went back to normal. While Cruz is hot, it might've been interesting to have her stuck in Astronema's form for awhile longer. Still, great acting by both actors, it almost really does seem like a body switch. Especially fun to see the Ashley-disguised Astronema secretly being annoyed with delays to her mission to blow up the rangers' ship while she isn't facing anybody and/or is alone, then having to act out the perky Ashley attitude.
