Freaky Friday (1995)
Age, Female
Mother and daughter switch bodies.
From: guest (mabu) , 214 months, post #1
would be nice if some director would do a remake in the content of
mother- son or fahter daughter
does anyone knows about existing films about this?

From: cxar , 214 months, post #2
well, this a good story but, I prefer the newest, because lindsay lohan is increidible hot, and jamie lee curtis is a great actress

Does anyone have a torrent or file to download this from?

From: Eric , 186 months, post #4
Buy the movie! Or record it from the disney chanel

From: Repulso , 186 months, post #5
I agree with cxar. I liked the updated version with Lohan and Curtis and really it's worth just buying or renting the movie.

Aside from the body swap premise of the flick, the overall movie was pretty good with good performances from all.

Oh yeh, and Lindsey Lohan IS hot.

From: guest (zap) , 186 months, post #6
she WAS hot during the freaky friday era

but I agree, that movie is good

From: Tuggy24g , 186 months, post #7
Eric I would buy it or record it if they ever played it! Second I have not seen one place to buy it from
If you have a torrent or file link you can email me at tuggy24jg@verizon.net

From: guest , 186 months, post #8
I find it hard to believe you can't find a place to purchase it. I saw several copies at my local Best Buy. Have you tried their website? Or Amazon?

The newest version, I found myself wanting the girl character in the Mom's body to get killed during that motorcycle ride with her self's boyfriend, leaving the Mom character stuck as an orphaned girl -- perhaps trying to convince her finance that it's really she in her daughter's body That would have been so deliciously perverse -- especially if he believed her. But it's Disney, people.

And, yeah, it's probably easy to buy a copy of any version of the movie for not an insane amount of cash, at least in the US.

Also, the whole Freaky Friday thing demands a parody in which mother and daughter (or mother and son, or father and daughter, if you want to get even weirder) swap bodies, learn little from the experience (assume there isn't much to learn: they already understand each other pretty well), and can't swap back! This would be a great thing for James of Wand of Change fame, and the mother and daughter could be played by Kim and her daughter, doing quick changes from acting their bodies' ages in public to acting their characters' ages in private.

I think too many 'mainstream' stories & TV or movies end with a swap back./ Accept for horror movies I cant remember a single one where they don't. I understand why - its the old plot of 'someone who learns better' & that works in a lot of cases.

A few movies where I think the swapees would be better off, or the world would be if they didn't swap back.

Wish uPon a star, The younger sister would be glamorous & sexy with a boy she loves & the older sister would be respected, have good grades & able to get into a good college & get away from her 'friends'. Don't forget They both really wanted the swap.

A saintly switch, the dad got to get away from his high pressure job as a QB & get in touch with his kids & the wife got over her fears & was respected & successful & a leader.

Though it was a disney film & wasn't going to happen I think the first Freaky F it would have been funnier a better ending if they hadn't swapped back! With the daughter learning to be a mom & wife ( I don't think it would have taken to long, she was a clever girl ) & the mom would have helped her. & as for the mom she'd
eventually enjoy her youth & she also was clever enough to adept. Also, Though not too much was made about in the film the daughter really liked her dad!

The problem with your Freaky Friday idea: the daughter would end up married to her father! That's incest!

From: dis_guise , 186 months, post #12
The return of swapped selves to their original bodies seems to be necessary in anything aimed at children -- or that's what people making and marketing these things seem to hold as the one immutable rule. Maybe it's fear of fundamentalists (even the temporary-swap movies would bother them, you'd expect -- except they don't seem to) railing about unnatural and possibly Satanic happenings, fear that kids would try all sorts of dangerous things to get permanently body-swapped, fear of boycotts, fear of... beats me, really.

I'd like to see a permanent and inexplicable husband-wife swap played seriously, not especially for laughs, or a mother-daughter or father-son: transgender parent-child could be fascinating too, but I don't think that anyone is that daring. For parent-child, it would help to have the other parent dead or divorced: again, I don't think that anyone has the guts for anything else. I'd love to have a daughter stuck in her mother's body win back her father and rebuild the family, but the whole incest taboo is too strong. Instead, maybe the father could be dead and the depressed mother could find happiness in being a girl again, while the daughter's energy and enthusiasm made her mother's former body attractive and attracted a man to be a husband and father -- but again, I think that this is too daring and nobody'd touch it.

Apropos of nothing, Wish Upon a Star was slightly odd in that the actress playing the younger girl (and then the younger girl's body) was in fact the older of the two -- but she didn't look it, which is all that mattered.

I respect your opinon Dale, but legally & physically it is NOT incest with the daughter in the mom's body. Its weird & uncomfortable, true. But the mom in the daughter's body having sex with the husband/fathr is incest. The situation was extremely well handled in th MOvie The secret with David D.

One mainstream film which had a one-way swap was Vice Versa. Towards the end of the film the male and female villains swap bodies. The look of sheer horror on their faces as they look at each other's old bodies is brilliant.

Thanks for the vote of confidence dis_guise. I was trying to get Kim and her daughter to do a body swap film for the longest time, but scheduling, both Kim and her daughter's, made it practically impossible. I also have another friend (also named Kim) who has a daughter about the same age and tried to get her to do a film too, but scheduling makes it very difficult. Its funny both Kim's and there daughter's totally think they can portary each other perfectly. maybe someday I can make that happen, but not for a while.

The Secret was a great film, which delt with a number of uncomfortable issues of what might happen if a mother ended up in her daughters body. Very well done and great performances all around.

Also in Like Father Like Son the head adminstrator (doctor?) guy and bully at high school end up getting switch permanently.

I prefer body swap movies/ stories in which the characters switch back to their original bodies, with a lesson learned, at the end of the story. I used to avoid body swap stories which had "stuck" as a category. I read them now, but I still don't care for that kind of ending. It is probably because I would not want to be stuck, in the same situations and in a good story, the reader will Identify with the main characters..

I can't believe that The Jaime Lee Curtis/ Lindsey Lohan DVD version of Freaky Friday is hard to find! Heck, I've seen it in the cheap rack at the grocery store!

Regarding the incest angle of the movie, the man the mom was marrying, would be the girl's stepfather, not her father. It would be incest only if they were blood relations.

Woody Allen married his step daughter and it wasn't incest, creepy yes, but not incest!

Why is everyone drooling over Lindsey Lohan?
She's very presentable, I'll agree, but she's, well, how can I put it?....erm..not...well..(dare I type it? What the hell!) hetero. The whole point of drooling over screen goddesses is that there is 1 chance in 1,000,000,000 that you will bump into this person one day and she will actually be attracted to you and all your dreams will come true
With Ms. Lohan this will never happen. As far as us guys are concerned she is a closed book. Start salivating over a straight woman who might actually reciprocate your feelings, like my dream girl Ellen Degeneres.
No, don't say anything, I'm in so much denial........

Lindsey Lohan has never been hot and never will be. She is drab looking.

PST?
Hmm...I guess it's Pacific Standard Time.

Nevertheless, Freaky Friday was a great movie. Both actresses were great!
(Curtis in Trading Place was great, too)

Lindsay Lohan used to be hotter
