I don't know why the flamers are all complaining about the picture
of the striped fox-girl. That fox-girl doesn't even look like Lum!
Look at the fox-girl's hairstyle and then look at Lum's. You'll
notice a difference. Also, Lum wasn't wearing any tiger-striped
wristbands in this episode, so there's no way she would have
stripes on her arms. If you ask me, I'd say that fox-girl is a
completely different character from Lum. She's most likely a
kitsune that modeled herself after Lum in order to attract male
foxes, since male humans/oni are attracted to Lum.
Besides, after so many touching episodes like "After You've Gone",
"Happy Birthday, My Darling!", "Panic in the Typhoon!", "Lum-chan's
Class Party", "Darling's Dying!?", "Parallel Worlds! Where is
Darling?", and "Pitter Patter Christmas Eve", and movies such as
"Only You" and "Beautiful Dreamer" (practically all of which
depicted Lum as a sympathetic character), do you really think they
would have Lum become a fox?
So to all the flamers who posted here thinking that Lum was the
victim of transformation: don't worry. Lum would never turn into a
fox, even if she tried. She's just too beautiful, sympathetic, and
adorable for that. :)

Now that you mention it, Turkitron, that fox doesn't look like Lum
at all. It's just a fox with stripes. I'm surprised that nobody
else mentioned that. Even in the manga, the fox didn't look like
Lum.
P.S.
You do make a good point about those touching episodes and why Lum
would never turn into a fox. :)
