Hello. Wonder if anyone can help me locate a story I read a few
years ago and would like to read again. Not sure whether it was on
Fictionmania, TGStorytime, DeviantArt, Patreon or even some blog.
And while I remember most of the central plot, the actual details
are nagging enough to make me want to track it down (so far
unsuccessfully). But here's what I do recall:
-- The story was written in multiple parts, probably at least 3
-- There were no images accompanying the story
-- The main character is a high school senior who lives alone in
poverty. His father is in prison but will be released soon and
likely to drag him into a life of crime. His mother is either dead
or abandoned him years ago. He figures his best chance of escape is
to get into a good college but will need to excel on some exams to
do so. That means bullying the resident nerd to help him out.
-- As part of his scheme, the bully coerces an invite (possibly
more than once) into the nerd's home. There he learns the boy's
parents are happily married (don't recall if there are any younger
siblings) and the mother is quite attractive.
-- In some manner the bully stumbles upon a secret workshop near
his neighborhood that enables him to construct realistic masks and
bodysuits. Possibly due to lust, possibly drawn to a family life he
never had, he replicates the mother's face and form and briefly
infiltrates the household fooling everyone.
-- The more he bullies the nerd at school, the more he yearns for
that family life he briefly experienced. Eventually he learns the
mother is taking a short trip. Once she leaves he returns as her
claiming the trip had been canceled. He proceeds to immerse himself
fully in her housewife role.
-- As the mother, he is kind and loving and supportive of the nerd
(exact opposite for his usual treatment of him). At some point he
convinces her loving husband they should have a picnic in the park
with "their" son. He then prepares the food and spends the day
enjoying the husband's company as well as chatting with other
families.
-- Knowing the exams are fast approaching and the mother will be
returning soon and his father's release is about happen, the bully
reluctantly returns to his old life. But by chance he stumbles upon
the mother's vehicle and her dead body. Apparently she died shortly
after starting the trip and her body was never discovered (I think
animals may have eaten parts of the corpse to leave her
unidentified).
-- When his jailbird father arrives home, he starts to bully his
son. The teen shoots & kills his parent, then leaves. Back at the
secret workshop, he becomes the nerd's mother again. Fully
resolved, he goes to his high school to confront the principal over
"her" son being bullied. He ultimately succeeds in forcing the
principal to expel his actual self once and for all. That ends any
hope of passing any exams to get into a good college.
-- At that point the former bully, now forever loving mother and
wife, triumphantly leaves the school joyful at finally escaping the
miserable life and miserable person he had been.

Over on the Fictionmania forum, someone found it for me. It's "A
Day in the Wife" on the Adventures in TG Fiction blog. I
misremembered some minor details but there's no mistaking that
ending. Hell of a good re-read. The author also has a number of
other good stories, mostly involving TG Identity Theft (a fave
trope of mine):
