I know it’s pointless to complain about product that’s being made
primarily for fun and given away for free. So … naturally that’s
what I’m about to do.
It’s clear we’re going to continue to get lots of AI based
transformations stories. If those videos were displacing a healthy
selection of other TG content, that would be a problem. But since
transformation content is so sparse, especially in the US, it’s
hard to be anything but grateful. I’m certainly looking at several
of these videos each week, and the growth in quality on some
channels is fantastic.
That said:
- Can we stop putting out videos that are nothing but a half dozen
first draft results of the same unrefined prompt? These videos are
mostly just low quality morphs and I think we’ve all seen enough.
- Channels that take the time to edit together something that looks
more like a story than a scene are *very much* appreciated.
- Please, please, please take the five minutes effort it requires
to keep characters consistent from one moment to the next. Every
engine now makes this much easier and putting out a video where
characters are hugely inconsistent just comes off as lazy.
- The same thing with voices. Please take the time to give the
necessary prompts to keep the characters voices from having English
accents in one scene, Russian in the next, and Indian ten seconds
later.
- This is an absolute pet peeve, but i would really appreciate it
if 99% of transformation scenes didn’t have the dialog “My hair! My
voice! Etc.” Think of something new.
There are some genuinely good videos out there, and channels that
are taking the time to put out a more polished product. They may
not be getting rewarded with clicks in the current flood, but
eventually, they will.
Thanks.

I'd be happy to try, as I'm semi-familiar with ComfyUi, and
recently upgraded to a 5080. But my main issue is getting QUALITY.
It seems semi-random. Nigh-identical runs range from
pixel-and-noise-filled blurry jittery messes, to sometimes
shockingly smooth and clear. But every guide out there is focused
on getting as many runs as possible as fast as possible. But I
wouldn't care if a single generation took hours, if it was truly
good. Trying to find the settings for QUALITY stuff with Wan etc,
is hard. It's all about " install this and this to get 20% faster
runs". I want better, not faster. "More steps" usually isn't the
answer. And many times, "fewer steps with a low-steps lora/model"
turns out way better than the base model with many steps---which is
the opposite of what's supposed to happen. (doing it faster with a
lora/tuned model is SUPPOSED to sacrifice quality for
time/steps----yet almost every workflow I try, the "faster
compromised" version is almost always much higher quality than the
raw, slow original version).

Here are some channels I’ve noticed doing interesting things and
videos that go beyond just basic scenes
TG TF Stories (mini-movies with some interesting plots and
situations)
Body Swap Shift (animation style swaps, old B&W films, music
videos)
Cosmos18-Redux (a long, multi-part Hallmark-style film with a swap)
TG MTF Stories (some familiar tropes well executed)
For creators, there are a lot of tutorials up now for achieving
character consistency. (There are so many different tools, but take
a look at Youri van Hofwegen’s channel, or Tim explains AI).

AI has actually gotten very good. The issue is people want free AI
content. The best AI TG content is currently paid content.
The ones that are really good are the people who combine AI
generated content with heavy Adobe Premier/After Effects. The bad
ones are the prompt engineers. Won't advertise the exact ones since
AI is still AI but you're starting to see an explosion of pretty
good AI videos on Instagram that are making the animation less
smooth (smooth movement is a hallmark of AI gen content)

Honestly, if someone made a legit guide on how to punch up AI
generations, and make coherent stories I would 100% make an effort
into it.
I've been so inspired by this 零林2015 dude on BiliBili but I have no idea how he does it!
I've tried once before with Hailuo back in the day, but I couldn't
even get to 18seconds without immense struggle to the point that I
just gave up (that and I couldn't afford a continuous AI
subscription anymore). But I'd maybe put down enough money for 1
month if I knew I had the tools and knowledge to actually have
something I like at the end of it.

"The issue is people want free AI content."
Are you seriously suggesting that people should want to pay for AI
generated content? It takes next to no effort to type in a prompt
for tg content these days. Maybe we should support creators who
actually take the time to draw or put effort into their art/media.

@Polover,
From what I’ve seen, one good place to start is with Nanabanana
Pro. It is aces at maintaining character consistency in images with
different outfits, lighting, etc. Those images can then be used as
reference in videos. There are also scene management tools, like
Higgsfield, that make this easier, but you are edging into things
that will cost at least a small amount of money.

The changing of accents, mixing up of lines, etc. is definitely
annoying. There definitely is a need for an upgrade in quality of
AI.

@guest (von) post #11 if I'm not mistaken there was an article or
something of the matter that discussed how ai has hit the
proverbial celling and the only way the article said is to
basically give our personal data to the machine so it can grow
more. The kinda ironic part of that statement is we are technically
already giving our data to it from just chatting it

@ post 12: i read some of those articles too, however it's not
convincing me because there are still many aspects AI can be
improved not based on it's training parameters or the number of
knowledge inserted into the machine. The majority of AI nowadays
(particularly LLM) focuses on making context memories more
efficient, like DS4 Engram method, to make AI more cost-efficient,
or intelligent benchmarks.
more training parameter isn't always means smarter. there's a brand
new stealth multimodal model called Healer alpha, and stealth
text-only model called Hunter Alpha, boasting up to 1T (trillion)
parameter inserted and up to 1M context window, but imho and others
in some AI coding discords, it's considerably less efficient and
less capable on memory retention compared to lets say, Gemini or
Opus. On image generation or video generation, it depends on the
predictor model.
- PS: to someone calling out i'm ignorant about AI few months ago
(which was deleted by a mod), i can prove i know some things about
it and had firsthand experience in free AI trials particularly LLM.

I make a fair amount of AI-generated content for DeviantArt —
stills, not videos. It's true, you can crank out a huge number of
bad results, a handful of not-very-good results, and one or two
barely worthy of being put on the refrigerator. Often, it takes a
keen eye and (if I may modestly say so) a certain artistic flair to
sculpt the prompt, to direct the composition, and to handle the
inpainting techniques, to turn a fridge-worthy image into a really
good piece of content.
People are excited to share what they feel that they've made.
(Perhaps "they" and "made" should be in quotes.) That's okay.
People are allowed to be excited about it. I think the solution
isn't to have fewer excited and motivated creators, it's to have a
dedicated place to share these AI videos — and the tips and tricks
for making them — that doesn't imply (as this website does) that it
is a finished product. Maybe the OP could start a Discord server
for gathering all this up in one place, with a "just playing
around" section and a "story content" section.

"Good artists copy, great artists steal" was my response defending
AI for a while until I read who popularized it and why.
On the surface it justifies stealing art or says the only way to
become a great artist is to steal but its a bit more nuanced than
that. Pablo Picasso who popularized that saying before Steve Jobs
stole it, said "stealing" isn't about plagiarism or theft, but
rather about internalization and reinterpretation, often
transforming the original to the point where it becomes a new,
unique creation. In that I think the word "stealing" is not a good
one to use.
Technically AI just copies patterns, it really doesn't "know" what
it is doing, its just following established pattern recognition
(training with huge datasets). It does that at crazy fast speeds so
its seems way smarter and more intelligent than it is. Its not
internalizing, or reinterpreting or even transforming, Its merely
copying, which I don't give a shit about but that quote is
misinformed for this argument and i would recommend not using it.
The future will be filled with editors not artists. Just like when
Procreate first came out the feeds were filled with shit drawings
from an ipad. Same thing here, a flood of garbage with a gem
floating here or there. And the difference is the human touch,
someone curating or redoing or not settling for first gen. The vids
of dudes transforming into girls are all terrible because every
scene cut look like a dif person.
People complained when digital art became popular, "That's not real
art!" If you draw digitally you are cheating they said. Also there
is already a small amount of artificial intelligence in all your
digital art, brush attributes/qualities, line correction(cheater),
control-z (cheater), layers(cheater), etc. Procreate, Photoshop all
those programs have brush attributes that don't use "real" art.
Same thing with photography a hundred years before, that's not art
someone argued.
Anything can be art, Marcel Duchamp in 1917 submitted a urinal
titled "fountain" to the Society of Independent artists exhibition.
Signed "R. Mutt" to challenge traditional definitions of art. They
ended up refusing to display the piece, which only gave the tale
more power arguing the artist's choice and concept (prompt) are
more important than the manual craftsmanship (paint, pencil,
pixels).
In the end I welcome any art, AI or otherwise, I don't care how you
made it, especially to this particular "niche" that is always
starved for any content, if it takes filtering out some crap so be
it, I would rather that then not get anything. Before people
complained we were not getting anything new, now people are
complaining because we are getting too much new, me thinks people
just like to complain.

I also want to mention the channel AI Swap Stories as one that’s
held my attention on several videos.
While some of these are compilations, they tend to be multiple
takes at longer pieces, some of which other channels would publish
on their own. The videos often have a playful, more upbeat quality.
They’re not afraid to be goofy, and they often feature characters
who are excited by an unexpected change rather than going through
the shocked face-my hands-my hair-my voice mantra so many channels
fall back on.
There are still some technical problems (particularly in getting
words in the mouth of the right characters), but I’ve found the
channel to be fun and willing to try new things.

Another high quality video from the Sexy Transformation channel.
Not sure how this creator is cranking out relatively lengthy videos
so quickly, but the skilled editing and knowledge of the tools is
clear. Some problems with voices and accents in this one, but the
way the transformed character looks like a female version of his
earlier self is great.

Hi Deej, I agreed with you in everything you said and tranks for
the complement on post #3.
Yes indeed, AI is getting progress, still some videos very lame but
plenty of creators are doing a great job (Like Alicia Shifts, Sexy
Transformation, Digital Dream Films, at least I watch videos from
them).
Speaking for myself, I trying to make videos thinking on what I
wanted to see on a TG story. Of course, sometimes the videos are
better and some stories too; but it do take time and is laborious
to make a long lenght video (Some videos takes over 80 clips) but
it worth when you start to get support and, in my case, see other
channels remaking stories I made haha
I also get that people who resist AI videos, I hated myself some
creators who make non-sense videos just for easy views; but now
videos are evolving and there is more quality content. Resist that
and complain about every AI content creator has no sense,
especially because we haven't had new, quality content for a long
time. I'm not saying AI is quality content, but complain about
videos improving is like complain about having new stories -There
are even videos without AI that are really terrible-, eventually
and more soon than later AI videos will be as good as filmed ones
and made by someone who really are in the TG comunity.
.
Of course, there is a lot to keep improving but AI is evolving and
we have to evolve too; the way I see it is if we want good content
we have to make ourselves, and yeah the old way with actors and
actresses are ideal but too expensive and in some cases with poor
acting/effects (And for me, it's hard to find a production who gets
the real impact of a TF. I wanna rip my eyes when I see a man
turned into a woman without realizing he's in a woman's body, it's
like C'mon you have tits, your organs changed, how tf you didn't
realice until you were in front of a mirror.
I say all this objectively. Even though I'm a creator and I work
with AI, I recognize that there are still details to improve in
many ways, but there has certainly been significant progress in
just a few months. Sky is limit!
