I just realized that the older woman in the poofy dress in this episode is played by Isabella Rossellini...the same woman who sold the potion in the movie Death Becomes Her with a somewhat similar overarching concept.

Looks like there is a trans woman who thinks the drug will change her into a biological female. I suspect it’s not going to turn out the way she wants based on the tenor of the show.

I strongly disagree, I seriously do not think Ryan Murphy, fx and everyone involved in this show would say that a trans person is actually a man. I also think this is going to be part of the story going forward, that the drug actually makes you what the person taking the drug wants to look like, their own idea of beauty.

What I meant was that the show hasn’t given any indication that the effect is influenced by the person’s will, but rather that it just acts based on the person’s existing biology. Hopefully they’ll get around this by having the trans woman take a modified version that also changes biological sex.

FYI, this show is based on a comic of the same name. Don’t know if it’ll follow the comic’s storyline. But you can go read it for potential spoilers if you want.

Just read that Mando's sister, Lux Pascal, was cast in The Beauty. So lab tech in trailer for Episode 6 probably becomes a very beautiful Trans character Lux but not full genetic gender change.

Right on the money. Lab tech becomes Lux Pascal near the end of episode 6. There's not much of a transformation scene. It starts at 46:36. Skip to 46:59 if you only want to see the aftermath. It's Lux from behind looking into a full length mirror. Nothing too explicit, though the reaction implies its a full gender change.
