The fact that this group won’t even allow any opposing opinions on the influx of AI videos flooding our niche is sad. I agree if we don’t like the videos ignore them. However have to sift through hundreds of them in a search for non ai body swap content is a problem at this point. And admin this is not a post attacking anyone just an opinion and observation.

It's making me crazy dude how many AI videos I stumbled while looking for genuine TG content. Look I don't really have a problem with AI generated videos. However, it's crazy how many of them right now. There should be a consensus that when you post AI videos on YouTube or somewhere you have to explicitly state that it's AI.

From: guest (pakistan666) , 12 days, post #3
Yes, is getting boring seeing those video, most of them the effect are trash.

From: guest (MadNutter) , 11 days, post #4
Same thoughts. A fair few have amazing effects, but the majority are just not my cup of tea. I get that our interests are niche and it can be pretty dry content-wise, but flooding it with AI-generated slop isn't helping things

From: guest , 11 days, post #5
My question to the mods is - why is us discussing this a bad thing?

If the original thread hadn't been deleted, then there would probably have been a few more comments moaning about the volume of repetitive TG/TF content, then it would have fizzled away. The fact the threads keep getting deleted is what's keeping people's attention on it.

And I'm not anti-AI. I use ChatGPT, I've used sites like Minimax and Vidu a go for video generation. I think the Bigfoot memes created on VEO3 are hilarious. Hell I even set up ComfyUI locally to generate some uncensored TG stuff. What I don't like is the sheer amount of slop created, not just in our community but on the internet as a whole.

I'm not home rn, but there are youtube extensions that I can send once I get home that can block certain youtube channels if you want to limit the amount of AI content appearing on your feed

If this thread is still up

From: hskfmn , 11 days, post #7
If you notice, I haven't deleted this thread. And why would I? There's nothing wrong with a healthy discussion/debate, or voicing of opinions. What I will delete is anything rude, insulting, or people demanding that content creators stop posting to this board for literally no other reason other than because they happen to not like the AI content they generate and post (for free, I might add). Such an expectation is not only unrealistic, it's unreasonable. As I've stated many times before, if you don't like the content (which is always clearly marked and posted to the appropriate threads), then don't watch it.

But again, AI-generated material is not going away...if anything, it's only going to become much more commonplace. So love it, hate it...whatever. What you do have to do is get used to it, because it's here to stay. That's not an indictment or criticism of anyone...it's just a plain and simple fact .

So, no...AI has not "rotted my brain". I'm simply acknowledging objective reality.

From: guest , 11 days, post #8
It’s objectively true that moderators go way overboard deleting criticism of AI videos though - I’ve seen posts as innocuous as complaining about the fact people are being encouraged to upload infinite slop to youtube and clog search results met with deletion.

It’s a problem and it’s annoying, and it’s NOT actually restricted to these threads when it’s filling up every search result. I also don’t think “get used to it” is a fair response when you’re actively deleting criticism of the practice and only leaving up praise, which is tacitly encouraging it.

From: guest , 11 days, post #9
It’s also, frankly, mostly a scam rather than genuine content. People are clicking on these video and met with poorly rendered glitchy autogenerated slop, but the view count still goes up because the videos are so short. I think criticism of the ‘content’ is totally fine for this reason.

From: guest (probably going to get deleted) , 11 days, post #10
It's just so spammy. We don't need 800 posts saying "wow! My slop looks slightly less awful now!", only to be backed up with the frankly full of themself mod locking any discussion and going "gEt UsEd tO it".

That's not fostering a healthy message board. That's plugging your fingers in your ears and going "lalalalalalala"

From: guest (lobstromonos) , 11 days, post #11
It's good that we're having a (fairly) civil discussion about it. Here's my 2 cents

I don't mind the AI generated stuff when there's substance and context to it, mainly because that's what I like about body swap/ transformation stuff in general. I respect the content creators that take the time to a 2-3 minute video with some sort of story or flow, be it AI or animated or IRL. And I look forward to seeing how those creators use the technology as it improves and develops.

I feel that's what this community respects and enjoys, when someone takes the time and effort to create something that fits our niche. Look at the support Three Degrees Off Center and Pamela Sutch got when they uploaded, or more recently how much people encouraged buying/renting that Carnal Vessels film instead of pirating it.

Problem is that's only about 5% of the content, the other 95% is just compilations of near-identical 5 second "a possession/transformation/bodyswap scene set in a school/laboratory/bedroom" clips repeated 10-12 times with different characters. Yes, it's free, but just because something's free doesn't mean it's good. It's low effort, and I suspect a a fair few of their clips are taken from Discord groups and other channels. I say that as that happened to me - posted a clip to the VEO3 discord, within 10 minutes some a-hole had taken that clip, added some horrendous effects then posted it to their Youtube.

I think that's why everyone's been so taken aback by the mod responses to it. Instead of leaving a "let's keep things civil" comment on the original thread, nuking it makes it look like the mods have something to hide.

From: guest (lobstromonos) , 11 days, post #12
Also, the whole "don't tell content creators to stop posting because you don’t like their content" angle is how we ended up with sludge like Kwebbelkopp or The Emoji Movie

From: guest (Guest 21) , 11 days, post #13
Yes this is the very point I was getting at

From: Moose , 11 days, post #14
As someone whos not a fan of AI content themselves, I will play devils advocate here and bring up this, usually on this board whenever other content is posted thats not m2f or f2m, you constantly see people go "ew f2m" etc.

So maybe when people are displeased over AI content, because of the tendencies of other members on the board, it comes off as "EW AI" when in reality there might be some frustrations with the amount of oversaturation of AI content on youtube now.

I do feel like metamorphose.org should be a place that we can talk about our grievances of AI for those of us that dislike that form of content, but we need to be more fleshed out when speaking on the parts we don't like. For me the main issue is a dedicated youtube channel that posts AI content, will post 50 videos in one day that are all 30seconds to a minute long, and all of it is the same thing, men either possessing or body swapping with a women and commenting "Wow I'm a woman" this on its own isn't bad, but the benefit of AI should be we should be able to make even longer content in the forms of parts. In the past, people who would post clips on youtube similar to the AI videos, but this had the benefit of if you wanted more content, you could find more by finding the source
The best part of TG for me is the impersonation and interaction aspect which I feel like AI could take advantage of but no one has done so yet. Granted I could make that content for myself as well since most of these tools if I understand are free.

Finally to @hskfmn, your a great mod, constantly taking on the trolls on the board, and making sure this board is maintained so your work is always appreciated. I did want to respond to your point though about AI being here to stay, which Im not so sure about. Many people said the same thing about NFTs and Crypto, which are still around but not as prevalent once the hype period ended, and all the tech bros moved onto AI. I think in a few years the hype for AI might peak, and itll end up being treated as just another tool such as Photoshop or Video Editing softwares. But only time will tell us that part!

@Moose

Thank you for your kind, considerate words. This is exactly what I'm talking about when I say it's good to have a calm, rational debate about a subject which absolutely is important, and should be discussed...just in a civil manner, like you just did. I have my own comments and opinions about the content being put out here. But as a mod, I feel I need to remain objective and dispassionate, as much as others may hate me for that...kinda comes with the job unfortunately.

In terms of the future of AI, could be you're right. I myself see a burgeoning new system and way of generating text, audio, and visual media...and I see it taking off to heights that we would scarcely dream possible. I guess it's one of those "wait and see" kind of things.

But again, thank you for your logical, measured approach. I hope this discussion can continue in the same vein.

It’s honestly really not that new of a thing, versions of this have existed for decades. What has changed is mostly just the fact it’s the latest fixation and profit exploitation tool for silicon valley, which is really only sustained by having an army of poorly paid data trainers sorting through things for 19 hours a day and giant facilities burning through years worth of electricity in months. Once that becomes unprofitable (which is fairly soon at this rate), the industry will move on to the next thing and we’ll be left with a much slower and less hype-based progression of the technology mostly being used on the backend, like it was before.

This is also kind of reflected in the actual quality of VEP and ChatGPT products - they’re all virtually identical and it’s kind of impossible to produce something that could be considered an actual story, since LLMs are built almost exclusively to be support for backend tasks. At most, it’s good for five second shitposts that probably needs to be redubbed by actual actors for voice stuff.

I'm old enough to remember the ancient era before computers, when dinosaurs roamed the earth, houses were $50k, Art Bell was on the radio, and you could travel the US-Canada border without any documentation.

Then power point and photoshop were invented and we had a period with AWFUL power point and photoshop slop. We had logos with Comic Sans fonts, and slides with rainbow text. Then we had webpages with background music and font textures. Images had all sorts of bad photoshop filters and people with no graphics knowledge or artistic insight just cut and paste CLIPART together and called themselves digital artists.

Clipart was the original digital slop.

Slop has always been around. Its people given a new easy tool and slapping it on everything. They're just excited to have this new tool. But it will never replace actual talent and insight. It's happened before, and it's happening again.

But slop is temporary for the most part. I don't see people using comic sans or rainbow texts anymore. Webpages don't have background music. After a few years... or several... people eventually get it out of their system.

I think AI slop will also go that way once the tools stabilize. Photoshop added tons of new features in the first several years, now they're more incremental.

AI is exploding right now, but once it stabilizes and improvements become incremental, people will work it out of their system and gravitate toward a set of best practices. Clipart has become so refined that people now call it stock images.

I don't like the slop... but i don't think we need a specific rule against it. Just the general rules of no spam, no flooding, no brigading. etc. etc.

Like rainbow text, it will eventually pass.

Everything is a fad on the internet and it'll go away, no matter how high effort or low effort something is it'll eventually go away in a matter of time.

I am guilty of using AI for writing stories but I keep it to myself as it's only for fun and see how far I can push the AI before it starts to censor itself or brick. I think using them in moderation is the best way of using it in a lot of senses

From: guest (guest) , 11 days, post #19
File a complaint or suggestion with Youtube to add a filter option for AI created content. If there are enough of you, perhaps they will consider it.

From: guest (Ye) , 10 days, post #20
  1. 18 - I think it’s pretty delusional to think that AI is just going to go away. AI is definitely not as good as many think it is but it’s improving pretty rapidly and is going to keep getting better. Just look at AI videos a year ago, versus now. Before they were incomprehensible messes and now they even have audio. Anything that removes the need for certain types of labor is the kind of tech that is very unlikely to just disappear

I’m fine with AI content as long as it’s kept isolated from real videos and such. I think this site does a decent job at that, most AI posts are kept to their respective threads and there’s still plenty of non AI posts. YouTube sucks though, and I think it will be a while before they implement any AI filtering. The reality is that it hasn’t impacted most people so unless you’re into something very niche like us, you probably haven’t run into the deluge of AI gen videos like us. It would be ideal if every video was clearly marked in the title at least but we can’t force everyone to do that
