power mix-up that happened during Absolute Power,”continued Starer.
“This Freaky Friday situation might be confusing if not for the
brilliant art of Stephen Byrne. He's created incredibly fun and
distinct new character designs that make it VERY clear when Ice is
in Fire’s body and vice-versa. The body-swap chaos is going to be a
ton of fun for readers, but not for Bea and Tora.

Hoping for more than Fire & Ice swapping bodies. From the look of
the monkey paw panel it should hopefully be a few more people. I
think this writer is the same one doing that gross Harley Quinn
fart comic too, so I’m worried about the quality of this based on
the concept of that.

She also wrote the previous miniseries with Fire and Ice, which was
alright. So I think it'll maintain the quality.

The penciler is Stephen Byrne. Surprisingly he does NOT appear to
be related to John Byrne. Looks like he has a cute style that would
work well for a fun, lighthearted body swap scenario. I love the
design of Fire and Ice in each other's bodies, which you can see in
the preview linked above.

Really hoping the switches aren’t limited to fire and ice. Since
they’re going about fixing it instantly and have their proper
powers, there’s not gonna be a lot of awkward identity issues.
Which I’m a little bummed about

Wasn’t good. Skimmed it. Insane to me to make a freaky Friday
limited series and wait until the end of the first issue to get to
the bodyswap. I think it’d be funny if Fire’s boob joke is what did
the switch, though. Issue 3 teases a small vile wide bodyswap(which
may happen at the end of issue 2)

bodies rather than just switching at the beginning

It's comic books, the entire point of a first issue is instigating
plot for the next 4.

The inciting incident was on page 1. their powers are swapped and
they’re making things progressively worse trying to fix it. Also,
again, that’s how a first issue works.

Its not even a comic thing, most body swap manga arcs happen as a
cliffhanger after setups. Usually body swap arcs in television if
spread across like 4 episodes won't have them swap till the end of
the first episode.
Almost all body swap arcs need the setup, otherwise your going to
be sitting there not knowing the difference between the new
characters swapped

Not thinking with my pants. Plenty of stories can get to the switch
in their initial issue early on with substance(crosswind, the
batgirls annual, chaos campus, fuck, even the zombie tramp and vamp
blade crossover did it).

You obviously don't know or remember what you're talking about
because Zombie Tramp vs. Vamp Blade did it at the end of the first
issue.
Crosswind's swap also happens at the end of the first issue.
Batgirls is an annual, which means it's longer than a single issue,
and the swap happens on the 20th page and ends on the 40th.
The only one that fits that gap is Chaos Campus, and that's because
they don't really need to do any setup as it's like issue #17 and
the setup is just the villain of the week swapping their bodies.

I double checked before commenting. They happen NEAR the end. Not
at the end. Still not preferable but at least there’s
something(moreso than fire and ice at least)
