In a newly airing anime adaptation of Yusha Ga Shinda a series that
ran from 2014 to 2020. In this fantasy series a powerful demon king
was sealed away by a legendary hero named Sion. 3 years later this
demon king has broken out and overrun the countryside. Normal no
skill or magic farm boy Touka tries to live his daily life and digs
traps defending himself from these demons. His friend Yuna who is
fairly skilled in combat visits him and talks on about Sion. When a
demon attacks during her visit, Sion appears to save her. Despite
his ego he is the legendary hero of this world. Until he falls into
a pit and dies. In a panic the village hides the remains of the
hero. Its the next day Touka wakes up underground and is now in the
body of the legendary hero Sion, with his own body held in a
special coffin by a necromancer named Anri, to hold him hostage for
obedience so he can save the world. Now in this comical mismatch of
heroes, Touka must pretend to be Sion, while working with Yuna and
Anri, and become the hero he was never met to be!.
Primairly focused as a M2M series but..in this recent episode.
Yuna in the last episode was bit by a zombie causing her to
suddenly start to change. As a panic in the city breaks out, the
crew flee to the mayors mansion. When it seems like Yuna is about
to become a zombie, Anri, being a necromancer, manages to stop her.
When they discover why she is in a zombie like state, the zombies
are not actually zombies, just people cursed to restrain their will
and increase aggression. They are in a corpse like state. They
discover that while Yuna isnt dying, she is still losing her
spirit. So Anri decides she should possess Yuna to have a will
present in her body to stop the advance of the curse. But seeing
this as an opportunity for his own perverted means, Touka presuades
Anri and the princess that he should take her place. So Anri swaps
Toukas soul into Yuna while remotely controlling the body of Sion
by her own powers.
Now in the body of Yuna for the time, Touka must act like his
friend, try to save her, and maintain his act to he female
companions he is to be trusted, despite comically attempting to
take advantage of the situation.
In the manga this ran quite long, from chapters 30 to about 47 or
so.

Yeah that's what it is, idk why people are hyping it up. It's like
people hyping up heavens delusion with the brain transplant scene
where it was only to build up the mystery of the world

Touka only possesses Yuna for about 17-20 chapters in the manga and
will for the duration of the episodes in the anime covering this.
About 4-5, in the anime the voice actresses for Yuna act as him
externally while internally its his normal voice actors.
Despite the humor and his silly attempts, there are story reasons
for him being in her body for the time. Preventing her from turning
for a time and when its shown he can use the holy sword despite
being in her body, it means that in spirit he is now the legendary
hero, not because he was in Sion's body as originally thought. Anri
commanding Sion's empty body tries to use his powers, but can't.
Its a silly series and had 200 chapters for its manga so the anime
won't be that long.

Post #10 it's doesn't work like that, chapter length varies in size
so they combine chapters to make a 24/25 minute episode

Post #9 also should add they cut some unimportant scenes and the
anime won’t end with the hero in Yuna body since that would be
anticlimactic so they will probably cut some content, as a manga
reader I feel like the anime will end with Touka in his body having
some flashbacks before returning to the hero body and continuing
his adventure since that arc ends like that.
Also there is more F2F in the manga but very little.
