This might be slightly off topic here, but I know many people talk
about the 1976 version, the god awful 2018 version and of course
the infamous 2003 version, but I don't think anybody talks about or
reviews the 1995 version.
In fact, I'm starting to think the Shelley Long/Gabby Hoffman
version is probably the most forgotten one of all.

I'll second that comment. I like the '95 version a lot but it's
almost like it doesn't exist.

Wow I completely forgot the 2018 one.

The 2018 one wouldn't have been so bad if it just wasn't an awful
musical. I liked the actresses playing the mother and daughter.

Regarding the '95 version, Ms. Long is probably was more well-known
at the time for playing the on again/off again love interest to Sam
Malone at some Boston Bar where everybody knows you name instead of
a mother although we need to give her some credit to play Carol
Brady in the Brady Bunch Movie.
Also, regarding the '18 version, it was a horribly-cheap,
watered-down musical so what did you expect?

Back in either high school or middle I used to go on the freaky
Friday site, was pretty fun and now I’m going to see if it’s still
active.
I’d love a sequel!

I know this might not happen and it might lend to creepville
territory, but what if Quantum Leap did a crossover with Freaky
Friday 2 in a promo? What if Ben Song had leaped into the body of
the daughter who had already switched bodies with her mother?

I think nobody remembers the '95 version because Disney hasn't
aired it in years and it's not on Disney Plus. I think it's because
of the smoking involved, though I could be wrong. It was a good
remake though.

It wouldn't happen for one reason: because Quantum Leap is a
NBC/Universal Company and Freaky Friday is a Disney Property.

Also, the 1995 Freaky Friday is still up on YouTube. Disney hasn't
taken it down yet. So if you want it for archive purposes, I'd find
a YouTube Video Downloader.

@Guest
Again I know its about copyright infringement and of course lend to
creepville territory, but why hasn't Disney give their blessing to
Altitude Film Distribution (the company that was responsible for
given us Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey) to do a low-budget
slasher film called Freaky Friday Night where the swapped mother &
daughter tries to murder their husband or boyfriends due to
infidelity?
and no this has nothing to do with the 2020 comedy slasher film
Freaky.
And I guess the '95 version might be considered as the "Song of the
South" of Freaky Friday films.

> "why hasn't Disney give their blessing to Altitude Film
Distribution (the company that was responsible for given us Winnie

Because Winnie the Pooh fell into public domain in 2022. Other than
something minor such as Winnie's Red Shirt, the characters were
part of the book that fell into public domain. Poor example.
> "a low-budget slasher film called Freaky Friday Night where

boyfriends due to infidelity?"
You wanna provide proof of that? Because any search engine result
only shows the 2020 movie.
> And I guess the '95 version might be considered as the "Song
of the South" of Freaky Friday films.
Yeah okay sure. I guess that same process also applies to "Susie
Q", "Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century", "The Love Bug" (TV remake),
"The Barefoot Executive (95 TV remake)", "The 13th Year" and all
the other ABC/Disney Channel movies that aired in the 90s but never
got a DVD release. Horrible take.

I guess Winnie's Red shirt could also easily get confused for blood
in general and I guess the other question was kind of stupid to ask
anyway but it was just out of curiosity.
But about Freaky Friday 2, I'm not sure if it will be any better
than the 2003 version but I have a feeling this could be for
Disney+ although I could be wrong.
