Anybody know where I can watch De Serpentis Munere - The Serpent's

So thanks for the above who shared the YouTube trailer, the
comments section on that link provides some valuable insights into
the status of production for The Serpent's Gift. Here's the comment
from the director director, Roberto Leoni:
"Purtroppo in Italia ancora non è uscito anche perché deve essere
ancora doppiato... Quando ci sarà una data di uscita sarà cura
della distribuzione darne notizia."
Now here's it translated in English:
"Unfortunately in Italy it has not yet come out also because it has
yet to be dubbed... When there will be a release date, it will be
the responsibility of the distribution to inform."
So this can lead us to assume a few points:
1) This is the director's own pet project. Roberto shot all this
back in 2017-2019, and now he has no distributor for it.
2) It's shot in English, so there isn't even an Italian release. It
would be more successful if he had tried to go the Indie scene in
his own country, but for some reason, Roberto decided to shoot the
whole movie in English primarily.
3) There's no English distributor willing to pick up this movie. So
it's in development (or distribution) hell.
4) We'll likely never see this movie released, not unless Roberto
post-production dubs everything in Italian and gets it picked up by
a local distributor.

Well that's a let down.

Hey Bodyswap1,
We could try to convince the director to just publish it up on
Vimeo or something. At this point, self-publishing is the best bet
for us to ever see this movie. And most Indie studios opt for some
form of Vimeo release nowadays, since Indie Distributors are having
a heck of a time with this economy.
Anyway, Roberto seems pretty approachable, as he answers comments
on his YT channel, so it's not of the cards, if our community shows
interest in his project and petition for him to Self-Publish. (He
probably knows English, so no Italian required to talk to him,
seeing as he shot his whole movie in English, and his IMDb shows
he'd been involved with Hollywood in the past)
Note: To be frank, Roberto's getting on the old side, so I do worry
this could end up never seeing the light of day, if he simply sits
on it and waits for a distributor.

Well Bodyswap1, it doesn't have to be difficult. Just some
communication. It all starts by leaving a comment on that YouTube
trailer, it's the director's personal channel.
Anyways, this is an option open to anyone who really wants to see
the public release of The Serpent's Gift. If you really want it,
just go for it.

Not sure what you're referring to Pcat. If you mean for Roberto's
YT channel, it's already been posted above. I don't want to spam it
on the thread.

Okay this is starting to tick me off. There's even clips of
Serpent's Gift posted up online (you recognize the girl here as the
actress playing the hyde role) See here:

How is there no news about how to pick up for purchase or rent? -_-

Well there's good news, after getting so pissed off, I spent a few
hours trekking Serpent's Gift. I actually found a streaming copy
(but it's in Polish). Look up " Dar węża " which is the Polish
title (sorry no english).
Out of respect for this site, I will not post the stream here, but
here's proof of my claim about the Polish release. It won't take
you much to find a copy under that title if you really want to
bother:
https://www.filmweb.pl/film/Dar+w%C4%99%C5%BCa-2021-10021427
If you're gonna try it, use the Yandex search engine (it treks down
Polish stuff easier than a western engine like Google). Also just
make sure to have your anti-virus, adblocker, and noscript
extension actively and running. Polish sites just seem to scream
malware.
In summary, this whole thing is crazy, as the original filmed
language is in English, and the director has worked in Hollywood
before too. Guess it's cause the production studio doesn't know how
to make good deals.
Lastly, I don't think this'll ever be released in English as last
time it had a release was in 2021 for the Polish, so there you go.
We're done with this rabbit hole...unless they ever get around to
releasing the English version. Later!

Okay, I lied, one more addition for the legal streaming (this is on
YouTube under the polish title). Movix Channel is part of a Polish
Media Group (so it's legit and not a pirate) associated with
several production houses, so this was likely picked up under a
bundle license (lucky for us it was uploaded just a month ago for
legal streaming to YouTube).
The catch is, you need to use a Polish proxy or VPN to be able to
view it, geo-restriction applies. Ah, and I will add that about 2
minutes are shaved off to comply with YouTube's standards for
acceptable content (so no nudity or softcore petting). Here you go,
legally watch the stream:

Thanks for the link. But I have to ask, from what you saw, were
there any breast expansions, hair growth or anything that had a
morphing sequence in the movie? And would you see in that youtube
link or would there be more in another link?

Honestly? No SFX aside from some augmented reality visuals. There's
a promising scene where there's live camera footage of the first
TF, but then it cuts off in static and poof the Eve/Hyde character
is just there.
Serpent's Gift Review:
TLDR: This is barely even a movie, it is cut together so poorly I
cannot even piece together what happened at which scene (it hops
back and forth in time, and there's the matter of what exactly is
the Eve.
Here's three points to take away home from this experience:
1) What is the Eve (Hyde) character exactly? If you're looking for
a dark metaphysical exploration of the anima, this isn't it. It is
metaphysical, but it isn't dark. The director definitely wanted a
hyde experience, and you can see a glimmer of that in the last 20
minutes of the movie, where she starts acting like a hyde.
she only has three lines in the whole film, and that is only when
the Jekyll persona is in control. I personally find it distasteful
that the Hyde doesn't take full charge of the situation. The magic
water potion is meant to make something better, unlock potential or
something. But instead you have a woman who is "newly born" with
child-like innocence, which if you ask me is a big turn off to have
the naked and very flirty Eve act like a 5 year old...what is this
movie even trying to accomplish making a grown woman act like that
while also doing the sexy time. Sheesh... -_-
2) The editor's room were on crack or this didn't even have an
editor, everything is cut confusingly, time flows like a
pretzel...good luck deciphering how the story flows. Even without
wanting the dialogue, there should be a certain logical framework
progressing time forward, the continuity is shot up the crapper.
Here's one evidence on how it's poorly cut, and not just an artsy
choice. The Eve-Hyde is always shown wearing some kinda trenchcoat,
well the jekyll character never wears it except for one scene
(which I assume was originally the director's origin TF scene for
Hyde), he wears it for about a third of the scene, then poof a hard
cut happens and it just vanishes like it was never even there. The
continuity is atrocious here, and it is hidden mainly in major
scene changes, but once you see the little changes within the same
scene with disappearing clothing during mid-scene, you know there
was development hell behind the scenes (and no editor).
3) Overly complicated metaphysical themes over actual narrative or
story progession. In this film there is one evil enemy, the big bad
Church (something I noticed a lot of Indie Italian movies love to
criticize, whether it is adult content or just regular
indies)....and I dunno why, but the priests are always shown as
powerful and framed as scheming or cunning. Now they try to be
clever about it by leaning into esoteric philosophy that you
wouldn't know about unless you deliberated went to college for it,
or looked up cause you are into that esoteric stuff.
Lemme cut it short for you, the story is literally sacrficed to
depict Eve-hyde as some Gnostic Divine spirit or something (at
least in the beginning and middle as the embodiment of Sophia-Eve
(the divine feminine) the imagery associated to her is from Gnostic
Christianity, in which there is a divinity known as Sophia who
incarnates as Eve (thus to most Early Christians, Eve is like the
avatar of divine feminity. Otherwise this movie makes no sense if
it didn't rely on some esoteric Gnosticism (because she's like a
spirit that mantles over/possesses the character through radiation
water.
I dunno, but I'm glad my comparative religion studies in college is
finally paying off, I can fortunately pick up on the cues here. So
yeah, Sophia, a goddess of wisdom is possessing the male lead,
because of radiation water or something.
But then here's the whiplash for me, this Sophia-Eve isn't depicted
as a wise or powerful goddess/demigod, but like a weak child. She
almost gets killed and raped for being so freaking clueless. She
just waltzes around Rome half naked and then some thug or another
wants to assault her. And yet this depiction of perfected
femininity is also supposed to be diabolical (with the serpent
motif), which isn't Satan but Yahwah as the Demiurge (The Craftsman
of the Cosmos). The Demiurge is a Serpent with a lion's head (more
Gnostic interpretations again) and the Demiurge is a mind-born
spawn of Sophia. It just occurred to me that Sophia may allude to
Athena, which is earliest depictions associated Athena to the
serpent (Athena is the Goddess of Wisdom), so Eve is some kinda
Christian-Pagan hybrid motif through this serpent iconography)
Bottomline: Eye-Hyde is not a true hide, except for the last 20
minutes of the movie. I want to see the originally intended vision
of the director, you can see in the trailers some scene from the
initial transformation -- now that looked awesome!!
As for the actual movie, even without the ability to understand the
dialogue (as it's in Polish), there is very little plot and a lot
of complicated motifs and themes.
This is the worst way an art film can develop (and you can tell the
director was having a fight with the studios for this film, it is
so disjointed and poorly cut together in the editor's room.
