Is anyone on the board a private creator? Someone who creates only for themselves? Captions, stories, videos?

I ask because I suspect I'm not the only one. (I create videos, mostly M2F TG content)

From: guest (Guest) , 18 months, post #2
What do you create?

From: guest , 18 months, post #3
Mostly stories

From: guest (guest) , 18 months, post #4
I do unmasking content with some apps. But nothing impressive.

From: guest (TA) , 18 months, post #5
Interesting. Why don't you post whatever you create somewhere else?

From: guest (RbnDgls) , 18 months, post #6
I tried at one time to post some of my 150+ reedited videos (Captioned Videos - whatever you want to call them) on Pormhub. They seemed to be going through a purge at the time and my posts were rejected. Numerous times. I'm sure it was copyright issues.

I did post three stories of Fictionmania a while ago, but I'm very visual and auditory so video is more fun to create.

I have created about 40 "reviews" of TG movies and TV that my be free use but I'm unsure.

I'm not interested in monetizing, but it would be fun for others to enjoy them as I do.

I've scripted and produced a number of semi-private videos - many of which the creators release themselves to help offset some of the cost.

Most of these videos eventually get shared here for free or even resold illegally, dipping in to the ROI resulting in the prices going up on said projects.

In the end I've gotten priced out of producing much new for partial private content. I've moved onto paying extra for fewer videos in order to keep them completely private mainly because I think it sucks reading about how some of what I've had produced has been criticized and how people feel entitled to the content.

What goes around comes around as they say... share stuff for free and undermine proucers and there's less ability or want to invest in creating content.

I think that's contributed to a lot of the lower quality output in recent years. We had so many great creators that've either quit or their quality has gone down. M Wills used to write some of the best body swap content on Amazon but now that their work is over pirated I've noticed a quality drop or a feeling that their stories aren't packing the same punch.

This is why I support creators who have a Patreon. Even if I don't even like their work, if they're transformation-related then I'll chip in $1-$3 just to help them out.

From: guest (Madaba) , 18 months, post #9
I agree with that, W.

I always support tg creator patreons. CelebSwap, Swappinggrounds. Even if it’s a small bit. I like to throw in a dollar or two.

CelebSwaps is a great content creator. I usually do the smallest tier but there are a lot of die hard fans that support these people

https://www.patreon.com/carlyscaptions

https://www.patreon.com/join/SwappingGrounds (the swapping grounds)

https://www.patreon.com/jimmyzappa (Amazon author/captioner with new patreon page as of a week ago)

https://www.patreon.com/inkyleaf

https://www.patreon.com/rougecaptions (smaller captioner but still some gold here)

https://www.patreon.com/blubyrdytg (this guy's been around for ages)

Basically anything with TG that you find on Deviantart you'll be able to find a creator that you'll love and support. I've seen a lot of captioners come and go but the ones that stick around always have some sort of Patreon.

The nice thing with lots of these creators is they'll still find the time to make free content for those who can't afford Patreon. I've seen some creators who put 100% of their stuff behind a pay wall like the people who pull their fictionmania stories and post it on Amazon instead. I'm not a fan of that level of money hunger but you'll know the decent ones from their behavior

I think another reason for creators to create things for themselves is because they think it's gonna look cringe to other people so they do it for themselves and maybe some of their friends that are kinda fine with their work

From: guest (RbnDgls) , 18 months, post #12
Thanks to everyone who has weighed in so far.

Klin, Madaba, W, privategirl -- I have had the same thought about hurting creators on Patreon, etc. with a big dump of free videos. I do want to give back to the community. Sooo...if I find a way to share any of my content I will do it very judiciously. One this month, one next month. Most of my videos will remain private.

Generic guest name - "The cringe factor" has been one resin I've been reluctant to share. Who knows how people will react to my current work? What rocks my hobby horse may not rock theirs. I got mostly good comments on my stories -- but their were detractors;

From: guest (Doc) , 18 months, post #13
I used to share, some full stories, some round robin amongst friends, but mostly on Writing.com before it got lost behind the paywall. I found that most of the comments I received were about being too detailed in my work. That was a bit frustrating, so I opted not to dumb things down or change the way I write and just keeps things for myself. Each of us have varying interests. When you can't find what you're looking for, you can either wait for someone else to do it or create it yourself.

From: guest (RbnDgls) , 18 months, post #14
Doc -- I think art, by definition, must represent the taste of the creator, not the audience. I satisfy my urge to create at this time by making these videos for myself. Maybe, sometime in the future I'll be Grandma Moses and begin painting or something.

From: guest (DatWeirdOne) , 18 months, post #15
I like to draw and write. Most of the time my kinks are so niche I dont really share

From: guest (Miwodin) , 18 months, post #16
I often write stories exclusively for myself. Some short, some long and even a personal interactive story that splits into dozens of different directions.

Even though I love writing, I don't think I would ever post anything online, mainly due to the fact that I don't think I would have the patience to try pacing it properly. I know what kind of things excite me the most so I'm more than happy diving deep into those areas whilst ignoring the parts that don't.

I also sketch from time to time, mainly based around the stories I've written though.

I do a bunch of breast expansion images with made up captions, I really wanna post those on twitter but my account is so different from what I wanna post and even if I wanted to make a new account I don't have enough images to make the account a thing and that's why I do it for myself also the captions are kinda cringe

From: guest (L) , 13 months, post #18
Have you considered posting your work on Deviant art? I see a lot of expansion/shrinking captions. I go there for most of my possession and body swap captions

From: greendoubleaught , 13 months, post #19
I create a lot of things for myself: artwork, captions, morphs, stories, and interactive fiction games. I share them when I feel like it.

This is partly because a lot of the stuff I do ends up unfinished; it’s partly because some of the artwork or stories I create contain my face or my personal details; and it’s partly because I don’t have as much time to create as I would wish and I hate getting emails and forum posts from people always wanting more. If I release X, they’ll ask “why haven’t you finished Y yet?” or “I wish you would do more Z, because X isn’t my cup of tea.” We all want content, and we aren’t always nice to creators when we want more.

From: Miteyhawk , 13 months, post #20
I create captions and usually post them on Deviant art. I started out making captions initially for myself because I wanted to be able to write the stories I want in the genres I like when no one else was. At first I kept my captions to myself, but slowly overtime I began sharing them in a small discord community. People liked the stuff I made so I decided to post them online for everyone to see. I feel like it's a mixed bag when you post your stuff online. Sometimes it's nice to see that people appreciate the effort you put in creating something and it motivates you to write more. Other times I feel a self-inflicted pressure to have a consistent upload schedule or to try to appease everyone making caption writing less of a fun hobby and more of a chore. I'm relatively new to caption making and luckily I haven't had to deal with some of the negative experiences some of the other posters might have had. If anyone is on the fence about sharing their private work I'd just post them. I'm sure there's someone out there that will appreciate what you've done and it might inspire others to want to create and share more things to the community.
