Good news everyone!
I'm back with an overlooked classic from the late 70's. Mind that
the transformation element isn't really much explored (maybe that
is the reason nobody found it before) but here we go with my latest
finding. If you want to know if this movie is worth of your time
and are just interested in the transformation aspect, skip to the
last paragraph. Otherwise you have a much detailed description of
the plot below.
MTF: Blondes have more fun (1979). A shady entrepreneur concocts an
aphrodisiac mixture by chance. Soon we find out that the potion not
only drives women into an erotic frenzy. Among its effects, it also
seems to be able to make grow hair on bald heads and gives men an
extra dose of potency. We follow an old drunkard that after one
sip, he’s off to the local brothel and manages to wear out each and
every gal there. So effective it is that the exhausted ladies
demand the entrepreneur an antidote. It is by this point, about
three quarters into the film that we are in the entrepreneur's
shop, the potion is selling like hot pockets, we see a customer
(Herschel Savage) downing the potion.
(SPOILER ALERT) At the other side there is what represents another
man (it is played by a woman in men's clothing and a mustache but
you get the picture) also consuming the contents of a tube. For
some reason apart from the lust their eyes, we see Herschel on one
side and the other "man" (Diana Holt), now apparently "transformed"
into a woman both naked after some mild visual effects. They don't
say a single word, they don't aknowledge the change, they hold
hands and go to the back shop for some horizontal mambo.
On the transformation part, as warned, it isn't much. The
transformation is done by depicting a woman in men's clothes and
some smoke and then "poof" we discover he is now a woman, he/she is
naked at that. No exploration or reaction, not a sigle word.
Nevertheless the movie is a classic, the cast is good looking, the
premise gives way to guaranteed entertainment and deserves to be
watched on its own merits beyond the anecdotal MTF aspect (which is
in relevance on par with much worse TV shows in this board). Take
it or leave it.
