Big TY to all you folks who liked "The New Susan Ross". I remember
writing most of it when I was stranded in an airport during a
snowstorm years ago. It was fun...the long hours flew by. Yes,
@treecatt has full permission to continue.
BTW: Does anyone have thoughts about where this story should go, if
completed?
I honestly can't remember. I just looked in my files, and see I
added a few more pages to the
PDF treecatt posted (I notice I had changed some names too. Who
knows why? lol)
For the curious: Here is the additional content:
_________
A soft nocturnal breeze blew a strand of Susan Ross’s…now Jimmy’s…
mid-length, wavy auburn hair into his face. Without thinking, Jimmy
tossed it back with a flick of his head, just as the real Susan
Ross would have done.
His former landlady stepped down from her porch to greet him.
“Isn’t it a lovely night, Sue?” she said with a smile.
Mrs. Janet Grimes…a slim, pretty woman whose dark hair was arranged
in a pert, pageboy cut…clearly believed Jimmy to be her best
friend, Susan.
For the briefest of moments, Jimmy hesitated. The realization
struck him that he could not remember his former landlady smiling
at him…not even once! Janet Grimes had never liked Jimmy. And yet
now here she was standing before him…a broad, friendly smile on her
face.
Of course, Jimmy knew very well that she thought she was smiling at
her best friend, Susan. But he felt unsettled at how easily he
could remember all of Susan Ross’s happy memories with this
woman…her best friend…who had so disliked Jimmy.
The realization of what it meant to take over not only Susan Ross’s
body, but also her life, now dawned upon him.
After all, now that Jimmy was ‘Mrs. Susan Ross’…the woman standing
before him was now his best friend and confidant!
Jimmy smiled, pleased at the evil irony of the situation. This
bitch, who had previously hated him, would now be unsuspectingly
his dear, supportive friend.
All these thoughts ran through his mind in a fraction of a second,
before he replied:
“Yes, this has been one of the loveliest evenings I can recall,
Janet!” Jimmy answered with Mrs. Susan Ross’s soft, feminine
voice…the reason for his enthusiastic agreement ironically lost on
Susan Ross’s unsuspecting best friend!
Mrs. Janet Grimes laughed off her best friend’s enthusiasm.
“Well, you’re in an upbeat mood tonight, Sue,” she grinned.
Jimmy merely smiled widely in reply, with Susan Ross’s lovely lips.
“By the way, Sue…” began his former landlady. “…what was that van
which was parked in your driveway? It seemed to be there for some
time?”
Jimmy froze.
Bitch! he thought. She was always nosey….
He was unsure for a moment how to respond. Instinctively, he looked
into Susan Ross’s memories for help. He found it, and replied with
faked casualness:
“Oh, that was just the gas company, checking something. Everything
was fine though,” Jimmy replied, in Susan Ross’s soft feminine
voice.
“Oh good…” the other woman replied.
Then Jimmy noticed Janet Grimes looking at him with a puzzled
expression. For a moment, Jimmy felt a spasm of anxiety, worrying
whether he had given the other woman some clue that he was not
really her best friend.
Then the other woman spoke:
“Is that a new blouse, Sue?”
Jimmy let out a small sigh of relief.
He blinked as he quickly checked through Susan Ross’s memories…
“Yes it is, Janet,” he replied, with the voice of Janet Grimes’
best friend. “I picked it up in New York, when I was there with
David last month.”
Saying this, the thought struck Jimmy that it would be in character
for him – as ‘Mrs. Susan Ross’ – to share a laugh with his new
‘best friend’. Looking in Susan Ross’ memories, he saw how Janet
and Susan often jokingly referenced Susan’s very brief career as a
teenaged model.
With this in mind, Jimmy placed his hands on Susan Ross’s wide,
womanly hips and, with a wide grin, struck a pose…arching his back
and jutting out his ample breasts. He tossed his mid-length auburn
hair back as if he were a model.
“It’s a couture Sioloonim…isn’t it just to die for, Janet?” Jimmy
asked with a grin, adopting a playful tone with Susan Ross’s voice.
Never suspecting that the person standing before her was not
actually her dearest friend Sue, but a male imposter, Mrs. Janet
Grimes laughed in response.
“Sue…with your figure…how could it not look great?” she grinned.
“Although that big bust of yours is, well, a bit too large for the
skinny models these days.”
The two women giggled girlishly together.
“Flattery will get you everywhere, Janet!” Jimmy replied…with his
feminine voice echoing, as if by second nature, the precise
inflections of the real Susan Ross’s soft, lilting voice.
No sooner had these words passed his lips than the unsettling
realization struck Jimmy …from Susan Ross’s memories…that he had
unconsciously used a characteristic expression of the real Susan
Ross.
And giggling like a schoolgirl?!!
For a moment, Jimmy felt a mixture of surprise and anxiety…he had
been acting by second nature as if he were the real Susan Ross! For
a worried second, he recalled anxiously the old man’s talk of
memory leakage in the Service’s transplant process.
Then he looked down at the impressive curve of Mrs. Susan Ross’s
crisp white blouse, which was pulled taut over his big bust-line.
Jimmy saw the rise and fall of his bust with his breathing…and he
could feel the weight of Susan Ross’s ample breasts…now his ample
breasts…beneath the sheer fabric of the couture blouse.
This was his blouse…these were his breasts!
Now that he had this lovely body, he was now Susan Ross!
So why should he worry about using Susan Ross’s favorite
expressions?
After all, now that he had her body…her life was now his as well!
And as for giggling…
I am a woman now! Jimmy reasoned. Why should I not act the part?
Suddenly Jimmy snapped out of his reverie…realizing the other woman
was speaking to him….
“…but I do envy you, Sue!” Mrs. Grimes was saying to him in a
confidential tone, believing him to be her best friend, Susan Ross.
“You’re so lucky to have a husband like David,” she continued.
“He’s not only good looking, but a total sweetheart! How many
husbands take their wives with them on business trips?” She sighed
ruefully. “Me? I’m lucky if Ted takes me out to the movies….”
Jimmy smiled sympathetically. He knew somehow that was what the
real Mrs. Susan Ross would have done. Then they both noticed
movement at their feet.
“Ah, so you want to come back in?” Janet Grimes said to the cat
that was rubbing about her ankles. She bent over and picked up the
feline.
“Well, I should take the little monster in for the night, Sue,” she
smiled at the person she thought her best friend. “I imagine David
and the girls will be back soon?”
Jimmy blinked, and then his smile widened.
“Yes, he was picking them up at ballet,” he said, with Susan Ross’s
voice. He glanced down the empty street. “I expect they will be
home soon.”
“Okay…” said the other woman, walking back to her front door.
“We’ll chat some more tomorrow, Sue...”
“Of course, Janet,” Jimmy agreed, as the real Mrs. Ross would have.
“Goodnight….”
“Night, Sue,” called the other woman, closing her front door behind
her.
Once again, Jimmy was standing alone…amid the nocturnal shadows of
the tree-lined residential street. The only sound was the gentle
chirping of crickets.
Like an epiphany…Jimmy realized that his “becoming” Mrs. Susan Ross
would be sooo easy!
But this felt sooo easy!
It was like going on Auto-pilot…and Jimmy felt he could impersonate
Mrs. Susan Ross as if it was second nature!
As Jimmy turned back to the front door, the wide smile transformed
to a smirk on his face…the pretty face of Susan Ross.
Perfect! The stupid cow never suspected he was anything other than
what he appeared to be…just Mrs. Susan Ross, entering her own home!
Jimmy recalled from the memories of Susan Ross the front door was
unlocked, since the former occupant of the beautiful body he now
possessed had unwittingly opened it for the “Gas Company” men.
He opened the door and stepped into the foyer. Jimmy paused for a
moment, listening uncertainly. The house was well-lighted, but
quiet. He let the door close behind him.
Jimmy took a few nervous steps forward, looking around the corner
into the living room….

Just to say...one of my favorite bodyswap stories of all time is an
adaptation by @treecatt -- "The Appraisal".
Plot: Rich dying old man wants a second chance at life. Chooses a
beautiful young appraiser and invites her to his home to appraise
antiques. Great bodyswap scene. In the end, the old man goes home
in the appraiser's house for hot sex with the appraiser's
unsuspecting studly fiance...whom he/she eventually marries! Such a
great evil bodyswap!!!

I've recently gotten into AI image generation. I'm working towards
creating images to use in the story before I post it.

@treecatt Yes, that must be it. You must have shared with me at
some point, as I just looked and it's not on Fictionmania (or
anywhere else I don't think :-).
I can't remember where I posted "The New Susan Ross"... maybe on
Bodi's Yahoo Group before everything there went tits up?
I REALLY liked what you did with "The Appraisal" -- the level of
detail as the old man stole her lovely young body and identity
piece by piece, and then dressed in her clothing and took over her
life.
Very excited, treecatt, at the prospect of maybe seeing it
illustrated with images.
Are you thinking of photo-realistic AI or comic book style images?
FYI: I've been playing around with starryai to illustrate some M2F
& F2F stories in both styles (the comic book style for a Fantastic
Four story where Sue Richards is replaced by her evil twin). My
problem has been a consistent look for Sue across several
scenes...as I'm not that good at AI sadly.

I read Macan's The New Susan Ross last night and for a body swap
story, I think it was very good and I can see how Treecatt was
interested in continuing it. Personally, I'm most interested in the
transformation part of the story, which is probably why Treecatt's
Stolen Lives: Catherine (v2) works so well for me. That's also why
I'm less interested in instant body swap stories, although they can
work if enough details about the changes are described.
I think a good story can work well without images and sometimes
poorly chosen images can water down what might otherwise be a good
story. One way to get consistent characters would be to use a cgi
comic art application and then run those images through Stable
Diffusion (or Magnific, if you can afford it) to make them look
more real and possibly apply ReActor or ROOP on the faces. Olivio
Sarikas has some good videos on Youtube on how to get consistent
characters., I just can't keep up with the rate a which new and
better stuff is released... I think the tools will become easier to
use and better very soon, so I'm just trying a few things here and
there and not investing too much time into learning a specific set
of skills that will likely be outdated in a month or two.
I think if you want to pin down the way a character looks without
writing about every single detail, it may be easiest to slip in a
reference to a celebrity that the reader can search for and then
use the found photos as inspiration.

My favorite body swap story "the New Susan Ross" and i am glad to
see the little continuation you wrote @macan, it would be really
nice to see how the story continues and how the "new" Susan relates
to her family, maybe one day. Thanks @Macan!

@Macan: I built a High-End Desktop (HEDT) computer a few years ago
with custom water cooling. Good thing I installed a GTX2080 Ti
graphics card. So, I installed Automatic1111 for Stable Diffusion
and use models from Civitai.com. One way I've used to get a
consistent face is the use of LoRA model or Embedding for a person.
The body/clothes will vary somewhat but since my intent is for
images that go from undressed to fully dressed that's not
necessarily a big problem.

Just wanted to say I've read The New Susan Ross mentioned a few
times over the years but never seen a copy to read, so glad it was
posted here. Really enjoyed it, and the usage of OS and drivers as
an analogy is a really clean way of adding some playful scenarios
to the body swapping ideas I'd tinkered with myself before (though
using hard drives as the "swapped" analogy), so really nice to see
something similar in a much more fleshed out way!
I'm already thinking of a story where the soul and drivers are
swapped, but the memories are lost so a pervy kid is thrown into an
older woman's body; he sounds and moves and re-acts like her, but
his actions aren't informed by her memories and how that plays out.
@Macan: you mentioned how it would/could continue, I'd love to see
a few more days in the Jimmy's new life, and then maybe a time jump
to see how he acts down the line. I'd also like to see how the old
Susan, now Jimmy, acts. If she, as Jimmy, somehow falls back into
his weird obsession and how he would have to deal with someone in
his former position being a creep.
@treecat: Have you any plans to post The Appraisal story mentioned
above anywhere?

@treecatt - Thanks for the tips. Perhaps I need to invest in a
better graphics card for my desktop at home. I spend a lot of time
away, so focus on my MacBook...but have noticed even its fan
spinning up some times with the load. re. "The Appraisal" -- Sounds
like it will be awesome! But I know all too well, hard to find time
with the demands of work and life.
@FaceArtist - TY for your suggestions and the heads up re. Olivio
Sarikas. Your idea of a "shortcut" inserting a celebrity's name so
readers can better imagine for themselves is well taken. I have
noticed a number of authors do this.
Thanks for compliments @ber and @esk324
Actually, @esk324, your comment tweaked a memory of where I was
going with the story originally. I think I had written a scene
where the original Susan Ross was released, and goes back to her
house late at night only to watch through the living room window as
the new Susan Ross makes love to "her" husband on the couch. So
yes, a full reversal of roles. I must have that somewhere. Will
look.

Honorable mention would be the Saving Anne series by Sleepers, but
they never finished the story, so that in my opinion disqualifies
it.

@Macan: Years ago I ran across a book that was part of the Timewar
series called "The Timekeeper Conspiracy" (Link to thread here
). The description of the villain replacing Milady de Winter wasn't
very elaborate so I have expanded on it. I also added AI images to
the excerpt and just submitted it to Fictionmania.

@treecatt Thanks for the heads-up. Will watch for it. Very
interested to see how you use AI in the storyline.
re. "The Timekeeper Conspiracy" - Great find. TY. I just grabbed a
copy. I wasn't aware this series had TG elements. I recall there
was another series by same author "Psychodrome" with shapechanging
aliens impersonating women.
