Leaving this site

I’m afraid it’s time for me to leave. You likely don’t care and that’s ok. It was great being a fan of this message board for the last 10 years but with the recent requirements to register an account I’ll be stepping away. I’m not a fan of this push of late across all message boards to require registration. I underfund why people might think that’s the solution but that’s thinking too conventional. Best wishes with the forum.

This is a very, very sad thing. Hope that maybe one day you can come back or this site can return to its former glory. Take care out there man.

We still do NOT require registration to post here. Though some threads are currently locked to guest posts due to the recent trolling issue (this is a temporary measure).

That said, I understand your decision to leave. We wish you the best, and hope that you choose to return from time to time to see what's new. Thank you much for all your past interaction with the community. You will be missed.

I'm debating whether to leave as well, I love this site but the trolling has made it uncomfortable. I wish all the best to the people leaving. I hope cj can get the person or people under control who are responsible for this...

My time and powers are limited, but I am trying. Hopefully doing more to help and less to hurt the site in the process, but I feel that sometimes I'm making things worse. I am sorry for that.

I think you're doing the best you can, so keep it up! :)

Making everyone register is a bad idea.

From: hskfmn , 37 months, post #10
I guess that's why Reddit is as un-popular as it is.....oh wait...

I happen to agree that registering as a user is an overall good idea. As Paul just recently mentioned in a separate thread, posting as a guest on this site is a privilege, not a right. If it's abused enough, it will be turned off, as it has in times past.

From: guest (kiyohime) , 37 months, post #11
how do you get an account? I don't want to be shut out by that troll...

From: hskfmn , 37 months, post #12
It’s literally as easy as clicking “Request an Account” under the site menu list in the upper left-hand side.

From: guest (kiyohime) , 37 months, post #13
nevermind, I found the account page.

From: guest (kiyohime) , 37 months, post #14
also, thank you hskfmn for everything you do

Thank you kiyohime!

not sure I understand why people are leaving over a little registration

it is not like you have to pay to use this site

you don't have to give them an email or anything like that for the trollable areas

when they do require that- just don't return

Bloomin' Faeries went to a pay site, I just don't go back

jumping through hoops at Lady Valiant - just don't comment about their really bad story line

you guys are taking this way to seriously

these people have been running this site out of their pocket, taking time from their day so you can read a few posts

thank them, show them the love the deserve for the source and the community that they give

don't complain about it

to everyone that works on this site, thank you, I have been coming here off and on for a long time... maybe closing on... I have no idea how many years, seems like 20

thank you

fyi, bloominfaeries is back to publishing their material for free, tho jaycee still gets majority of his funds for his project from patreon which i think has earlier access to content, its still published for free on the website

This site is unpopular because it's designed like a message board in the early 2000's

I don't understand why people would have a problem with registering to post a comment. I did when I first found this site years ago. Requiring guest registration would certainly make things easier for the moderators.

From: LJ524 , 37 months, post #20
Am already registered, and would be happy to pay a fee to use the site.
