Mod locking threads

seriously? locking a thread in advance of discussion? Just because a few of the lazy clowns that are too ignorant to put effort in doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to call them out...

Long been a problem here of lazy ignorant users spamming board and reposting trash

be better mods, seriously ignorant to censor that discussion

From: guest , 38 months, post #2
awww, now try saying that without cryin...

From: MissMako , 38 months, post #3
This is an ambiguous thread/post. If you gave an example of a specific thread and why you personally feel the discussion had merit - then by all means - please be more specific.

However - Regardless of the topic or discussion - if a moderator/owner of the site believes a post/thread violates the “posting guidelines” below - they will lock and/or delete it. This isn’t censorship. This is making sure people here follow the rules and are held accountable for their combative behavior and/or poor choice of words.

Words matter. Complaining about “lazy clowns” or “lazy ignorant users” does little to want others to engage in what appears to be a non-civil conversation. Especially when someone uses the guest name of (hateallofyou). This guest name alone isolates the user from everyone else automatically. And using different user names each time a post is made makes it that much more difficult to know who you are actually talking to in an on going conversation. It brings about notions of “anger”, “arrogance”, “trolling” and an unwillingness to come to the table and have a civil discussion. Especially when most people here just want to exchange info and reviews on “transformation” related content in media.

My advice - if you want a more civil conversation and not have the chance to have a thread/post not deleted? Create a User Name and password. Be consistent so people will engage more with who they know they are speaking to. Stop with the name calling and try and be more respectful if you yourself want respect in return.

Hate speech is not protected here (per the Posting Guidelines). If that’s what anyone wants to partake in... I suggest going somewhere else that accepts it.

Posts 4, 5, & 6 reviewed by me. Leaving them "removed", they were disrespectful attacks on an individual and did not add to the conversation.

in response to the stupid censorship...mako threw rocks and got them back

"mako threw rocks and got them back"

I disagree. MissMako also beat me to the punch. The OP was vague in so far as reference to what they wanted to discuss or comment on. Specific examples would have been quite helpful in either explaining what was going on, and/or to correct the issue.

I feel that MissMako did a great job in defining why posts are locked or removed... and that she did so without attacking the OP or anybody else. She was polite, courteous, and respectful. On top of that she added constructive ideas on how to avoid getting your posts removed or threads locked.

From: guest (hateallofyou) , 38 months, post #11
I did not make 1 outlandish post since we spoke TJ until the stupid locked post

it was brain dead to lock it

sorry, as many problems as people here have with their feelings and beliefs I feel just as strongly about this

your censorship to ME is the same as me dead naming or misgendereing

UNDERSTAND THAT AND WE CAN MOVE ON, DON'T AND THIS WILL CONTINUE

I WILL NOT TALK SHIT AND I WILL APOLOGIZE AND ADMIT WRONG BUT LIFE IS A 2 WAY STREET

REGARDLESS OF YOUR FEELINGS YOU NEED ACKNOWLEDGE MINE IF WE ARE GONNA MOVE FORWARD

LETS SEE YOU MODS BE THE BIGGER PEOPLE, SET THE EXAMPLE

"said i would be better, was until you locked a thread sking people to use search...then I went off"

Didn't know it was you who said you would be better.

I didn't ask people to use the search. In fact... due to the lack of discussion that was constructive, I chose to lock the post to all non-registered users. There wasn't much that could drive a discussion on that topic in a constructive way.

"if you can't admit how stupid, ridiculous and overreaching that is"

What are you referring to by "that"? Are you referring to the post to use the search function? Yes, that is someone's opinion (actually several "someones") that people use the search function before posting, so as to prevent duplicate posts. Are you referring to locking the post? Obviously I felt that that needed to be done (see above explanation).

"I'm gonna troll non stop"

Talk about "stupid, ridiculous and overreaching" actions. Not sure what non-stop trolling would do other than to degrade everyone's experience and irritate people... which would likely cause more of those overly passionate posts to show up. ~shrug~

"hate speech is different then speec you hate"

Yes it is. Hate speech is defined as "abusive or threatening speech prejudiced against a specific group"... where as speech that one hates is simply things that doesn't want to hear (or read). Hate speech isn't tolerated here. And there are also things that we don't want to hear/read (see the Posting Guidelines below). When it comes to the posting guidelines, much of this has to do with the particular moderator's discretion (but those moderator decisions can be, and are reviewed by the other moderators to ensure that the decision is fair and impartial as can be).

Sorry, I was interrupted by life.

Anyhow, I hope that all this helps you to understand better about the decisions that we've made here.

I hope that we can move past this, and I hope to continue to see you try to do better with the guidelines and posting here on Metamorphose. It is the civil discussion that helps to create a constructive and enjoyable community here. While we may not all appreciate the same types of transformative content, it is nice to see the variety here and to help inspire and entertain others that are like-minded.

@hateallofyou

As a trans person I have to say, please don't draw comparisons between getting deadnamed and misgendered to having a thread locked. They aren't even remotely close.

What? As a non trans person I cannot point out that not everyone has to care that someone is trans? Or that it gives them some special privilege?

From: hskfmn , 38 months, post #17
Of course you can...you just need to do it courteously and respectfully.

From: guest (Non Trans Person) , 38 months, post #18
D.A.W.

Saying you are a trans person gives you no room to tell anyone what they can write, or draw comparisons to.
