Anyone know a program that will run JSON files?

So a few months ago I found an app that allows you to create your own text based adventures/interactive stories, similar to the kind on writing.com but not public. I've now got access to a laptop so wanted to move my story onto there and the app I use allows me to export everything as a JSON file so that it can be reopened elsewhere. The only problem though is that I can't find an equivalent app/program which allows me to open and edit the json file in the same way you would an interactive story.

Does anyone use or know of a program that would let me do this at all?

If what you are looking for is how to open and edit JSON files, than any text editor could do the job (assuming it's ANSII encoded). However if you're looking for tools that have nice UI, easy to use, and have simple GUI. I don't have any recommendation on that kind of tools

You should use VScode, it has nice UI and is simple to read/edit JSON files.

JSON is just a simple format for data. It basically boils down to a list of names and values. It's really simple.

Any text editor will work. I recommend Notepad++. You can go to Language -> J -> JSON and it will color the text in a way to make it easy to spot errors.

His intention was not off the point. As what he asked for was simply tools to help him read and edit JSON files that contain interactive stories which we can assume for TF or TG related content.

But I agree that the post itself has shifted to more technical sides rather than the contents.

Thank you all for your help with this. In the end I just had to manually add all my entries from the JSON file into a new interactive story program.

@syberia Notepad++ was very helpful in doing this though so thank you for that.

@Authurnm you were right. The stories are TF/TG related but I find writing.com to have deteriorated massively and no other website fit for purpose so have resigned myself to writing purely for myself on better apps/programs.
