Double Solitaire
it is from the Wild Cards series, it got an update recently
the story revolves around a character that was "Jumped" into a
teenage girl's body than raped and is pregnant (all of that
happened in the previous book). Now the character must try to get
back to her original body.
the book came out years ago, but there is a whole lot of work that
went into cleaning up the book, it is sharper, and a lot better

Do any other characters talk about being “jumped” or is this the
only character that this happens to.

The story is almost entirely about the one character, the alien Dr.
Tachyon, whose body has been stolen and his attempts to stop his
psychotic grandson from devastating his home planet, and get his
body back.
If i recall correctly, in the book a couple of other characters do
get "jumped" and both are quickly killed afterwards.
The Wild Cards "jumper" story arc is best explored starting with
book VIII "One Eyed Jacks"

Thank you for that explanation. I will be trying to start the
trilogy of Books 8-10 without going through the previous books...
hope it isn’t too difficult to pick up.

All the Wild Cards books are more or less stand alone, although the
ones that are part of arcs do assume you've read the previous books
in the arcs, but still provide enough background and context that
it's not really a requirement. The only thing you really need to
know is that back after the end of the second World War, an alien
virus was released on Earth that gave people super powers(out of
every 100 people to be infected, 90 got the Black Queen, meaning
they died. 9 drew a joker, meaning they were physically
transformed, often in horrible ways, but not always. And 1 draws an
ace, meaning they get some sort of super power). Otherwise, the
books are mostly a world similar to our own, but with superpowers.

the books came out in the '90s
presently they are going through a little editing, stories are
being expanded, and new characters included to expand future books
and to explain past stories
so make sure you are getting the updated versions, they are a good
read with many writers you might know
btw - The Jumpers were created by Chris Clairmont, yeah, that Chris
(if you know the name, you know who I am talking about)
Double Solitaire is the last book to be updated
Jumpers have a part in the next couple books, but like I said don't
get them until they are updated
also, if you are looking for a lot of body exploration.... don't
bother, these books don't make a big deal of a man in a woman's
body checking out his new form

Thanks for all the info everyone. I saw Chris Claremont had writing
credits and thought that was awesome. From the little preview I was
reading I liked the way it was written and mostly appreciate
getting the chance to read about body jumping--I don't need the
whole exploration thing, personally. I actually find that kind of
thing a little over the top sometimes.
Looking to jumping (no pun intended) into the One Eyed Jacks book
in the new year.

just read it for the the TG, because if you do, you will be
disappointed
best wishes to all in the coming year
