It's already quite late for this question, but ..
Well, you all probably know that Yahoo has decided to discontinue
their support for Yahoo groups, and after December 14th all hosted
conted will be removed. Which not that surprising
given the fact that many of the groups were not active for some
time. And they have never been that populiar in the first place.
But still there was a fair share of the user base back in the early
days. Like the TG caption groups.
So, my question is... Is there someone who tried to backup those?
Is there maybe a archive? Or somebody has some saved stuff? I tried
to backup some myself when the news dropped but i just couldn't.
Because when I try to join a group (with a fresh account, because I
lost my old one) I get this message: "Your email address is not
linked to a Yahoo ID. To join this group, you need to link your
email address to a Yahoo account." And all the proposed solutions
that I found on the Web didn't work for me. Creating a new account
on another computer using a different phone for a verification also
did nothing. So eventually i kinda given up on the whole thing.
As far as i know to be able to backup a group you need to be a part
of it. There is no other options.
Also, Archiveteam doing some archiving:

But it obviously it is not gonna cover every thing.
So there's that. Thank you for your time.
