I think it's fine if there is a double post now and them. I'd
rather people post so others can learn about content than people
just keeping it to themselves worried that they might double post.
I missed this one the first time around myself.

No, itβs not fine at all. There is no problem to use threads search
option to check if the thread exists or not.
There is no problem to remind about that somehow via existing
thread π

There is no problem with doing a quick search, I usually do before
posting. Someone double posted the Simpsons post I put up about the
tree house of terror XXX 2 or so weeks ago but the second post
received replies from people that did not see my post. Personally
I'll take a double post over most forum's daily problems with
trolls and spam any day. If an occasional double post is the worst
thing we see on this message board, I think we are doing pretty
well. :)
