it depends. Are the stories a healthy outlet for their repressed fantasies, or are the stereotypes and cliches an actual reflection of how they see people? Sometimes you have to get to know the writer to be able to tell. Same goes for the people who read the stories.

Also, what’s this about people complaining when there’s no m2m or f2f content? It’s far more obnoxious when people go into half the m2m threads just to go “ewwww m2m.” I have never seen anyone say “ew m2f” here.

Have you considered that you may be looking at things the wrong way around?

It would be stereotyping to say “I become a woman; all women do XYZ (eg, wear dresses, paint their nails, wear makeup, act girly); therefore, I do too.” What if the author’s thought process is, “I wish I could do XYZ, but society frowns on men doing such things; I am jealous of women who can do XYZ without judgment; therefore, I become a woman so it is acceptable to embrace doing those things.”

In other words, perhaps it’s the desire to socially express gender that way which drives the author.

Sure, I grant you that doesn’t show through in most writing, but most writing is also very bad.

@Lorinell, Equal treatment is special treatment? Foolish. Usually those that are persecuted against are more sympathetic to the plight of others that are persecuted. If you belong to a minority in sexual interest and have no sympathy for others that are persecuted, then I would argue that you perhaps suffer from narcissistic or personality disorder or sociopathy. A key characteristic of that disorder is the inability to feel sympathy or empathy.

We need so many more stories that are same-sex transformations. I think there are a ton of straight men here that can't get a girlfriend and just want to imagine being women so they can get off by themselves. "No woman will touch me, so I'm going to imagine being one." M2M and F2F stories do not serve their purposes, they can't identify with those stories. It's basically a lot of mouth breathing virgins whining about stories that don't make them aroused.

Edgar Celes, your assumptions about why people enjoy a fetish of a certain type are not useful. I do not find your conclusions pertain to me, or to anyone else of my acquaintance. Sexual attraction is not rational; people are attracted to things by instinct, not by some conclusion that is reached through logic. It wasn’t that long ago that people said, “People choose to be gay because they want the attention.” It was no more true then than your assumption is true now.

I suggest if you do not personally enjoy a thing, refrain from insults and speculation why someone else does. You’ll nearly always be wrong.
