Trying to remember the name of a body swap movie where a man and
woman switch bodies in a street. I think there were presents
involved and she was warring a beret. Later on the go to a hotel
room and hook up and there are two guys following them in the room
next door.

I remember someone had it recorded and the recording could be found
on IRC. But that was at least 10 years ago. Fernsehserien.de tells
me the movie has aired 6 times in total and the last time was in
2010. There is no DVD/Bluray and it is not available for streaming.
When watching that movie, I felt their age difference was creepy.
Why did they choose to cast a man that is 50% older that the woman?

I’m sorry but what is IRC?

Internet relay chat - or some such thing. It was the old file
sharing method and chat 20? years ago. Its more or less what
dischord is today., There were digital files of this - someone may
still have.

IRC was the way we used to share files from about 1997 to maybe
2008 or so. It was a free domain that allowed people to dump files
and others access them. There used to be a Fictionmaia IRC channel
that was not directly affiliated with their website but named
accordingly because that is what it was for.

Sorry for confusing people by using IRC and IIRC in the same
thread.
As some people already wrote, IRC was primarily designed for
chatting. There are several well known server networks. You connect
to one server and can talk to all people on the same network. You
can join chat rooms (That's what hashtags were used for before
Twitter became a thing). Some chat rooms were mainly used for
talking to bots that will send you file lists or files if you send
them the correct (well known) commands. Everyone was able to run
bots. The IRC protocol was documented and server operators didn't
care.
The Fictionmania channel (= chat room) may be dead, but IRC is
still alive in some communities. When I connected to freenode last
month, the server told me I was one of 88123 clients connected to
the network.
