I've been thinking, and it seems that transformations done with the
use of practical effects look so much better and more convincing
than computer-only generated morphs. What are your favorites?
Off the top of my head I can think of just a few:
1. Dr Jekyll and Ms Hyde
2. Critters 2
3. Paradox Alice (and other of her works)
... I ran out of ideas off the top of my head. Curious to see what
you guys can come up with.

I don't think Critters 2 had a TG transformation. They were aliens
that turned into people if memory serves.

There wasn't really any kind of morphing effect in Deathstalker
though. Just cuts between the dude and the girl. A good scene
regardless of course.

Guest: In Critters it was a male alien who turned into a female
model. Even had a male voice until the transformation. In the first
movie they both transformed into guys. UG:"Transform."
Lee:"Nothing likes me."
Can't think of any other examples. Mostly the transformations from
older movies were edits and camera tricks. The standard now seems
to be from Switch where they wake up go to the bathroom and scream
because they can't find their manhood. Would be cool to see a good
special effect in a major film or tv series. Oh unless it's a one
off quick computer morph just to keep the story going.

Yeah, it seems computer generated effects are cheap enough now that
it's easier just to do that. Too bad though. More Nick Cage on
ladies' bodies then. haha.
P.S. just thought of another one that's pretty good - Werewoman

There's a fun man-to-devil TF in the Twilight Zone episode The
Howling Man, where every time the actor walks behind a pillar they
change his makeup to make him more demonic.
The TF effects in An American Werewolf in London and John
Carpenter's The Thing are justly famous. Altered States also had
all sorts of incredible practical makeup effects.
None of those effects are sexy (to me) but I will never forget the
M2F practical effects in the Mesmer's Bauble episode from the old
Friday the 13th Show!
