Thought I’d mention this, though it’s been a few years since I read
something online, but there was an article that mentioned a
possible production of Los Protegidos for the English speaking
market. It was to be produced in Quebec (I’m assuming Montreal) and
that does make a strange kind of sense. Bi-lingual actors fluent in
both French and English are commonly found there so they could use
the same crew for both a French language broadcast as well as for
the English speaking world, starting in Canada. That project may
have died when Mexico started their own variant. Maybe there was
concern about oversaturating the market, or maybe they explored the
possibility of just dubbing one of the other productions. Now might
be a good time to agitate for an English language production again.

So it appears a sequel series of the original is in the making.
It's titled Los Protegidos: el Regreso, and it'll feature some of
the original cast. The story will be set 10 years after the
original events.

did with the original one, and I haven’t been able to watch the one
