World-Changing TG stories?
From: guest (J_Mariano_fan) , 67 months, post #1
Can anyone here recommend me some world-changing TG stories? Like, the entire world changed gender roles suddenly, or everyone swapped genitals suddenly, like in "Out of Play" by Julia Manchester or the Deepthroat Flip series?

Thanks.

I don't think there are a whole lot of world-changing TG stories out there. But some that come to mind are the Changeday series and the Genderwave series.

“The Changeover” is pretty good but a bit extreme.

Well, there’s “The Wachsmuth Syndrome,” short story from Playboy magazine back in the ‘70s.
Guy suddenly transforms and he’s just the beginning...

Gosh I wish there were more of these. They are some of the best, and offer up such interesting changes to not only people, but social order and society in general.

"After the Apple Fell" by CLH was really good. It had a world where all men lost half their height on January 1, 2000, leaving them waist high to women. A lot of insight into how society changed as a result. Sadly, the interwebs don't offer it up easily anymore.

Another good one along those lines is "Primacy" by Julia Manchester I believe. Environmental contamination has damaged men's masculinity, and a new female growth drug offers women a chance to become taller and stronger. As more women take the drug the gender roles of society start to shift. Eventually, things get really weird.

I wrote a "13 Genders" series about a world where everyone changed privates, leaving some people more compatible with some genders than others. The 3 finished stories are on Fictionmania.

Those are the 3 examples I can think of right now, I'll look for more. I hope this gets to be a popular thread!

The Wachsmuth Syndrome is available to read at The TG Graphics and Fiction Archive. The site appears not to allow direct links, it is under the fiction tab.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I deeply recommend the "The Great Shift" series on Fictionmania. They are stories in which everybody in the whole world switch bodies (a concept that actually i find pretty amazing, it would be interesting if was more deeply talked about)

There’s also “Temple of Despair,” in which virtually every person on a planet ends up having minds and bodies periodically shuffled.

I'm just looking for some TG stories where the world switches genders and a big chunk of the story is how they'll adapt. I definitely like the Genderwave and Changeday series, but what I'm looking for is more of The Changeover type, like in depth detail at the changes that happened and how society has adjusted.

I don't think there's a lot out there, though, thus the question to make sure I covered all my bases.

This is kind of a holy grail story of mine, but I wish BobH who wrote the genderwave series would post or finish his story about the astronauts off earth during the story. I would love to see how they adapt to a completely different world upon their return.

I'm always on the lookout for this genre, but it's not common. I'm also interested in other global transformation stories, not necessarily just TG. Does anyone know those too, as a bonus?

I suggest "Voices" by Cooper. It's really good, and it gets into detail about all the changes.

There's also Masculinity 2021 and its sequel over on Cooper's Amazon page, if you don't mind paying for them.

I thought they were both excellent.

Corwin, "Temple of Despair" sounds interesting to me. Where might one find that?

There's "The Additive", which features a sexual orientation change to many of the world's women. It's by Optimizer888. Yeah, it's not exactly what the OP was looking for, but it does change a lot of gender roles and does explore the wider societal implications. And there are hints at a few TG elements at the end.

The story was based on one of my "Movie" listings. I have about 1,183 ideas for stories, but suck at writing. So, I put some of the better ideas out as movies synopses hoping that someone else picks them up. So far, "The Additive" is the one and only time lightning struck. If anyone out in the multiverse has writing ability without any current inspiration, look through my various movie listings, a lot of global changes hinted at among them too.

Latest (but not necessarily the greatest) is here: https://www.fictionmania.tv/stories/bizzare/movie9.txt
