Agree with post #7, but will also say that people probably would
say that they just like Bowsette because she's a "sexier" Peach.
What they don't realize, is that they probably like the (1) gender
dynamics, (2) assumption of Peach's identity, (3) evil
assumption/hostile takeover of her identity, which are all things
we tend to like.

Post #9 really hit the nail on the head for me, especially your
point 2 and 3. There's just something so kinky about taking over
somebody's life, body and sexuality like that. I want to see
versions of this where Bowser is actually possessing Peace, not
just becoming a sexy copy of her.

Someone in Youtube has a really good explanation of this Bowsette
thing.
"Bowser was the first real evil video game person many of us faced,

Also a good number of Bowsette art has her in charge, being the
dominating one, owning her sexuality. Which I feel goes against the
male need to dominate threadline.
Some women are already cosplaying as her, so Bowsette is resonating
with a wider audience. Looking forward to seeing more Bowsettes at
comic-con.
And the whole "video game community will never be the same again"
is a bit melodramatic. There's been pervy fanart for years,
including gender bent ones. This one is just getting more
visibility/popularity.

Yeah, I know. I was just more responding to the post in #14
regarding Bowsette being some dom fantasy.
And, honestly, I can see why there is a following. As Valkan
pointed out in #17, we're already seeing people cosplay as her, so
this has latched onto something.
I think it's because we've kind of never seen a bad girl in the
Mario verse before. All the "Evil" female characters are normally
very cartoony or aren't very humanized. Bowsette offers an glimpse
as to what an evil version of Peach might look like, akin to a
character like Wario and WaLuigi.
Plus, it's a cute design.
