New Lalola? What should they do different?

Air Gear, I was not aware that you are Bud's wife.

We generally keep our home life to ourselves.

@Tuggy--Telenovelles and series are different in other countries that in the USA. I hope the USA with Netflix and Amazon moves their way. When their non-consistent season ends actors and crews and everyone is out of work, some shows get extended and some get cut short. Lalola Philippines had a six week lead time before the first episode was shot and it aired. If they tend to kick off in January 2019 for instance, they may be floating to see who is available for a lead.

@Bud and @Air Gear, lol. I hope you get your bathing suit issues worked out. (Chances are, Bud will keep asking.) ;)

Good luck on your home life, my friends. :)

The number of times I've had to say in effect "In your dreams, Bud!" ...

From: Holly Dunn , 68 months, post #86
Lol. I know Bud wants to see the swimsuit. Many of the Lalolas had them travel to a spa as a group out of the office. But they never had her put on a swimsuit.

I hope the new version will break some new grounds in what "we" want to see in our community while keeping a good story in play. Hope it happens.

I found Bud a scene where one of them was in a swimsuit too. It's never enough for him, is it?

Getting back to one of your earlier points, you don't want the Lola character looking too glamorous from the outset, I think it would be more effective for when she has to 'scrub up' for some big important meeting/party etc that they really have her go from what she's been looking like to a real bombshell and make that like a 'shock reveal' sort of thing when they show how good looking they can make her.

I mean that's the case for everyone, isn't it? Even the best looking don't go around looking like a fashion model about to go down a catwalk all the time, do they? Also, the bigger the difference before you do it, the more the contrast and effectiveness when you do, don't you think?

According to my records, there have been only 3 instances of swimsuits in the Lalola franchise. In the Chile Lalola, Lola wears a black 1 piece swimsuit and gets mad at Diego for rubbing suntan lotion on her butt and no that episode is sadly not available on Youtube. In Ele E Ela, Lola wears a 1 black piece swimsuit and jumps off a diving board after talking to her dad. In the Spain Lalola, Lola wears a bikini in a dream sequence in which Sergio starts kissing her.

Well, there you go then.

Would it be a good or bad twist if in the next version of Lalola that more characters know that Lola is really Lalo?

What I've always liked about this show is that the different countries have taken the starting premise and run in so many different directions with it. I'm all for trying new things all the time.

The Portuguese version is my favorite but I always felt they missed a big opportunity by not tying the two separate storylines (what was happening in the office and what was happening at home) together.

I mentioned this before but I thought what would have been better is if the scientist who slipped the drug in his drink held a press conference about her experiments on television and outed him so to speak.

So, among other things, Sergio can finally prove to the office that he wasn't crazy, his father can see he was telling the truth and have the dilemma put forward that the women of the office say as much as they liked Julio (there wasn't anything to suggest he wasn't a good boss), could Julia stay instead?

End the whole show with Julia neither taking the pill nor throwing it away nor taking it as there's no rush as she could take it any time after she's taken as much time as she needs to think about it. So, maybe implying she never will but not confirming things either way. I think I would have liked something along those lines the best IMO.

I read a translated review of Margosha on a Russian website where someone comment that they could tell a man wrote the Margosha script because it lacked subtle moments and glossed over some things that are significant to women. Like in episode 15 when the Facunda character gives her a peck on the lips and it puts her in a daze of reflection. The original series did the best job with this kind of stuff. I hope now that it is 10 years later we see more of this stuff and it doesn't seemed rushed.

@Bud--It would be interesting to see other story variations, but I don't think that everyone could know the truth. Maybe one other person at the office could know without adjusting the storyline too much. If the male office rival that was his friend knew, that could add an interesting dynamic. Or maybe one key office woman. I would hope it ends up being an antagonist that finds out and makes it harder on him/her.

Or another option would be for the Romina character to have a greater role in the story.

From: guest (Emas Gold) , 68 months, post #94
In the Spain version Romina instead of disappearing & taunting Lola through tape like in the original, she came in person to Lola's office to taunt her.

One idea I like to explore is to combine the role of the boss' daughter and Romina. So now you have Lola's former girlfriend becoming her love rival. That would be glorious.

From: guest , 68 months, post #95
@Holly,

But the original is also written by man, no?

From: guest (Scipio) , 68 months, post #96
I think it was the Spanish Lalola where Romina has a large role. She's very bad in that one, very persecuting. On the other hand, there is a tiny role for Romina in MARGOSHA. When Margo finds her, she seems to be grieving that she had done such an evil thing in a moment of anger. Both Spain and Russia have large roles for the Lalo character, BTW. But "Gosha" doesn't enter Margosha until the 3rd season, as far as I've noticed. (Actually, I didn't like the Margo/Gosha hook up angle. I was rooting all along for Andre). In fact, that could be an good idea in a tg story. I mean, there is a man and a woman who are married or very close. They switch. But instead of drawing together in their new lives, they find a different man and a different woman who appeal to them much more with their new POVs. I think that would be a logical thing to happen, since a married couple or steadies would be carrying a lot of emotional baggage regarding a person they knew so well before they switched. They could feel more natural with a fresh start. They wouldn't always be competing with their lover's memory of the person they used to be. That would be particularly true if a couple was having relationship problems before the switch.

If I remember correctly the Spanish version is the one where at the finale Lola punches a woman right? Is that woman Romina?

From: guest , 67 months, post #98
Lola does punch a woman but it's not Romina. It's her rival to Facundo/Sergio. I believe in the Argentina Lalola the character's name is Natalia.
