Quick question for you Dreamcatcher. You said your criteria is
surgical transformation into another and you want it in paperback
form, right? Would this include any of the self published books on
Amazon, or do you mean like professionally published through a more
traditional company? If you don't mind self published then I could
list several for you then. The reason I'm asking is alot of these
started off as web fiction, like the story Eric mentioned Cleaner
is available from Amazon in paperback form, but you mentioned that
really wasn't what you were looking for, so let me know, ok?

I'd prefer books through more traditional companies just because
web fiction tends to be more sexual fetish, than plot oriented. I
mean I also know that it could be argued that Harlequin novels
could fall under that category, but like the one sample I listed
earlier 'Mirror Image' it did have a lot of hot sex scenes, but it
was also coupled with a great plot. It's just that as a librarian
in training I feel more drawn to traditional stories and I want my
site to exemplify that if that makes sense.

I'm late to this thread. You're forgetting "Tarantula" by Thierry
Jonquet. Pedro Almodóvar wrote his version of this book and became
the movie The Skin I live In (2011). The book is arguably better.

A great one that people are forgetting to mention is Mirror Image
by sandra brown. A rising politician's wife dies in a plane crash
and the reporter who was sitting next to her is misidentified as
her due to her injuries and the fact she carried her daughter to
safety. Turns out the wife was part of a plot to assasintate the
senator and reporter uses her new face and identity to save the
man's life after falling in love with him.

You might like Ugly duckling. A homely woman has her daughter
murdered and her face destroyed in the process. World's top plastic
surgeon give her a new face and identity. I think he based her face
on some old girlfriend. Anyway, she had a pyscotic break and has a
darker personality she begins using to the hunt those responsible.
I believe the author was Iris Johansen.

It took a while to find this thread. I found the title of the book
with the girl in the train accident who got amnesia and plastic
surgery and transformed into the politician's daughter. Its "The
Stepdaughter" by Joanne Fluke. I just found it in a used bookstore
and felt compelled to answer your question if nobody else had yet.
It was a great read. Spoilers: I absolutely loved the twist where
her college boyfriend who gets her pregnant is also her younger
brother from before the accident. She's convinced for most of the
book the she is possessed by the other little girl who died in the
accident. It was just her dormant memories coming back to the
surface due to being triggered by the pregnancy and seeing her
boyfriend's stuffed lion doll she had given them when they were
little. Lots of great twists! I don't know if you're still building
your website but if you are, would love a link to it!
