The trailer for a film adaptation of David Levithan's Every Day was
released today. Every Day is a novel about a person, A, who wakes
up in a different body every day. Whether this is TG is a question
that's probably up for debate, but it's certainly possession, and
very much something we on this site should be following. :)

This is pretty exciting, and also good to see there's going to be
at least 6 and maybe 7 MTF moments (especially if you believe the
movie will follow the book for a particular one).
Here's the imdb page:

Also, I want to say it was kind of weird seeing this trailer play
before Star Wars for me. I felt this feeling of trying to hide my
excitement since the people I saw Star Wars with were rolling their
eyes throughout the trailer at the concept and I had to feign
ignorance and play along.

Looks like a cross between The Beauty Inside and the short story by
Greg Egan "The Safe-Deposit Box"at first glance.

The other thing worth mentioning is that Orion Pictures is back.
Obviously it's part of a bigger company but I haven't seen that
logo on a new film in a long time. I believe this one is the first
one released as part of its revival.

So is this American version different from the Korean version in
the sense that the main character simply becomes people that
already exist every day?

The Korean movie was The Beauty Inside, which itself was an
adaptation of a an American webseries. This is something different.
The premise is similar to The Beauty Inside, in that it's a love
story where the protagonist has a different body each day, but
they're separate stories.
In essence, though, yes;the biggest difference between the premises
of The Beauty Inside and Every Day is that, instead of his/her body
transforming every day, the protagonist of Every Day wakes up in
the body of an existing person every day.

Yes Bud, that's part of it. But the other part is that this isn't
even related to the "Korean version" you're talking about. David
Leviathan's "Every Day" is a novel that was coincidentally released
at a similar time as "The Beauty Inside."
The Beauty Inside has the person waking up in a different body that
doesn't have an identity, whereas this book as the main character
waking up in the specific bodies of boys and girls of a similar age
and nearby location to him/her.

Jinx to the guest who posted a similar thing to me at a similar
time...

So what happens to the person of the body that protagonist is
possessing each day? Are they just "asleep"? Do they die? Are they
locked in the body with the protagonist but can't do anything about
it?

"...whereas this book as the main character waking up in the
specific bodies of boys and girls of a similar age and nearby
location to him/her."
Greg Egan's short story as mentioned above has this exact same
premise and was published in 1995.
