Supergirl (CW) should do a modern take on Ultra-Humanite
From: guest (hi) , 77 months, post #1
Hiding away from Metropolis after encountering Superman in a "fatal" battle years ago. Ultra-Humanite (born Gerald Shugel) is now in actress Delores Winters' body residing in Supergirl's National City, it doesn't have to be another battle, Delores could just cross paths with Kara.

"guest's" trolling aside, I think this is a fantastic idea. I would love to see Supergirl's take on the Ultra-Humanite. I think Ultra-Humanite would fit into the show very well. Supergirl has prominent LGBT characters and draws from LGBT themes in some of the ways it talks about Kara's superhero life; the Ultra-Humanite could be an interesting way for them to touch on transgender issues. Supergirl also likes to adapt Superman's classic villains in ways that better suit a female superhero, and having a male supervillain who's become a woman seems rather on the nose.

Why can't they just stick to the battle between good and evil? The social justice trend is annoying as hell. I'll never understand how 3% and less than 1% get so much coverage and attention in super hero shows but I'm an evil white guy so my opinion is less and I need to shut up since I've had everything handed to me on a silver platter.

Where's a good place to send this to the Supergirl writers? Their social media accounts have half a million followers so if it's even seen, it would be for a fraction of a second :(

@Bud

The phrase "you catch more bees with honey than vinegar" or whatever comes to mind. On the social issues, they can still have them but they need to take out the aggressive tone and stop undermining anyone else or no one will listen. I'm a feminist and found a few episodes pushing it's political agenda quite embarrassing

I was trying to fin a way of getting a mosaic idea to the shield guy and had no luck via twitter for this same reason. If you figure out a way congrats :D

The episode where Maggie's dad showed up was cringe worthy. The whole "murders and rapists" outburst sounded so cardboard and stale. I get it that the people that run the Arrowverse shows are hardcore liberals and social justice warriors but you can't ignore the other side. You can't also just cast them aside as outcasts, bigots, racists, and subhumans. You alienate a lot of people when you get on a soapbox and start judging people simply because they don't agree with you.

Seriously, what happened to the true liberals that would stand up for free speech even if they didn't agree with it?

I prefer the CBS version of Supergirl to be honest. The CW version has to much feminist and social justice preaching in it. Don't even get me started on how they made Alex an instant lesbian.

Interestingly enough Supergirl showrunner Andrew Kreisberg was just let go for sexual harassment.

Listen, cutting the boring bullshit, I really don't gaf about the show's politics (mine are private) or the SG makers.

I'm a fan of the Superman/Supergirl world and also find Ultra-Humanite's bodyswap ability incredibly interesting, and would love to see a modern take on it. At the moment Supergirl is the only live action solo Superman show that can do this, which has had great moments. <3 seeing Red Tornado

It's barely my idea since Ultra-Humanite basically does this in the comics, straight from the (really old) comics Superman believes UH dead after the two fight, but UH reemerges bodyswapped as the actress (for two years btw), i don't know why i find that crazy interesting, but i do. Then he swaps with a gorilla after the actress perishes

Having read the Action Comics featuring Ultra becoming Dolores, I'd love to see this tale modernised since everyone had that awesome, yet dated old timey look. It's a shame Ultra is Superman's first villain, yet barely remembered.
