According to many posters in other thread about TG, the genre is in
the process of dying now. Since TG forms large bloc of the interest
of this site, it's no wonder that the board is now also slowly
dying off as a result of TG genre dying.

I don't know about the other thread, but it's common for people to
find this site, mine it for it's decades of content, then find the
well running dry. I think it comes out at roughly the same rate
over the long run. We just binge on it 'til cupboard seems bare,
but it's always being produced. Just not as fast as we like.

this bs thread is still going on? Vup is right...

It's common to look back with rose-colored glasses and to have an
unrealistically rosy view of the past. In some ways it WAS better
in by-gone years. In other ways, it was worse. It still other ways,
not a thing has changed. The snark and snippiness and trolls have
been with us all along. It's just a wonder they are still being
fed.
I have always valued this place primarily as a sort of hub. From
here, I can find information and links to just about every other
site I visit. It helps that the url is easy to remember when I'm
not on one of my personal computers.
I think there is something to the idea that, when many of us first
stumbled onto the scene, we had all of the content that had
thus-far ever been created at own finger-tips. Everywhere we
looked, we saw something new. But the longer we were on the scene,
the more familiar it all became. Now, we are at the point that
everything new is starting to look the same. The gems that stand
out are getting more and more rare. And I think that isn't entirely
true, so much as it is true for us, subjectively. Familiarity
breeds contempt, as they say.
I see it on the BEAddventure. The new episodes being added have an
entirely different tone and feel to them than they did ten years
ago. But of course they do, for the same reason cars made ten years
apart don't look the same. Styles and tastes change, authors and
artists come and go, styles and fads and fashions pop up and fade
away. That this site is still up, functional and active, is a minor
miracle all by itself. Consider: I already had a free Geocities
webpage when I first came here. Geocities is long gone now, along
with MySpace and a whole plethora of others. But Metamorphose.org
just keeps on tickin'.
If you ask me, the TG niche is never going to go away. It is a
quirk of human nature and examples of it go back thousands of
years. It might fade back into the shadows, lurking tantalizingly
just out of reach, as it was in the days before the internet, but
it will never 'die' anymore than some people preferring short
chicks.
What can you do to make the site great, again? Be active. Comment.
Start new threads. Make a webcomic or write a short story. Host of
TG-themed Halloween party and write a short article about how it
went. Look out for mistakes or typos while you are reading the site
and let a mod know about them. Don't feed the trolls.

Well. One way to save this site from its decline is to upgrade to a
better forum where registration is required instead of letting
people posting as anonymous. This way the trolls could be banned if
they derail too much.

yeah, trolls are such a huge problem...oh wait no they
aren't...just lots of thin skinned bitches looking for safe
zones...lazy people, mod ass kissers and freaks looking for kicks
on a public forum with weird role play are the probs...post vids,
link to new material and help people who put effort in not just
post "i'm looking for..."

with thread such as "Transmafia" popping out recently, it seems
that this site does have a big problem with trolls running amok
which must be addressed the sooner the better...

^Your post made me go read that thread . . . I see nothing
outrageously wrong with it thus far; there's been some tense
moments, but overall I think it's quite interesting and insightful
to multiple perspectives. This is what I genuinely do not
understand about some people: why does anything that is not 100%
rainbows & sunshine have to be bad or "toxic"? The real world
doesn't work that way, why should a forum?

The "Transmafia" thread is relevant to what is going on today, even
the TV show South Park has parody of the PCness and forcing of
Trans ideals onto society.
Just youtube search "South Park Caitlyn Jenner Stunning and Brave".

when you cant accept (im not saying agree, mind that... just
accept) opinions contrary to yours, well, the problem is not with
this site, but with you, dear golden boy

Metamorphose Forums 2013 = Transgender art is cool!!
Metamorphose Forums 2017 = little boys in their diapers crying
“Transgender people are forcing us to live with them and making our
bigotry and bad thing!” Waaaaaahhhhhh

reason for the decline is “toxic masculinity”
|
From: guest
, 89 months, post #54 |
but how is toxic masculinity related to the decline of this site,
or the genre in general?
|
From: guest (penguinattack)
, 89 months, post #55 |
That toxic masculinity excuse is bullshit honestly. Just admit that
the TG community has become cancerous and is still trying to push a
narrative down people's throats.

B in D, here is a correction, and the point.
Metamorphose Forums 2013 = Transgender art is cool!!
Metamorphose Forums 2017 = How dare you label that art or the
subject as Transgender! They are just as much a woman or man as a
cis is!
And I have been on this forum since it was first created.

I think that when someone is oppressed for so long, they become
used to the oppression. So, when they have freedom, even if it is
minimal, since they only know oppression, they become oppressors.
They look for smaller preys. And they can realize it as much as
their former oppressors: nothing at all.
A lot of African slaves had their own slaves in America, and
remember, no single European had the balls to get into and look for
people to enslave in Africa. Africans did that to themselves, and
sold their slaves to Europeans, who took them to the New World.
And that's what we see here, besides a great lack of empathy. It's
a pity. We could be so much better together. Shame on you.
