Hey everyone
I've been trying really hard to instigate a lucid dream where I
possess or swap bodies with a really hot girl. I become aware that
I'm dreaming but as soon as I do I can't do much in the actual
dream. Any advice?

it helps me to just switch directons constantly, at one pont i was
being held hostagen and the i switched roles with my crush, and
then as i was about to wake up i just started flying, just keep the
direction of my dream shifting to the point where i feel
comfortable enough to go back to the direction it had before, mind
you this may not work with you, there is the always reliable
spining around which also worked for me on a few ocasions, also
just trying to keeps things simple, like maybe not transform or
posses at first, maybe just try replacing your image in a miror
with the person you want to be, hopefully this helps :D

We have a master of this fine art here.... Ive forget his name
right now. BuckyBo?!
IMHO whenever it gets too exciting, you will wake up. Try to keep
it low profile at first... after getting the hang of it try to do
something else, more dense, like Carlitos said .

Get into the habit of looking at signs or words in your daily
environment. look away for a bit, then look back. If you are
dreaming they will be different the second time. That's a reliable
indication to determine if you are dreaming at the moment. If you
think you are beginning to wake up or the lucidity is fading, try
spinning around. When you stop, you will seem to be awake but will
almost always still be dreaming. Do the sign test again.
Another technique is to focus your attention on your hands, seems
to restore lucidity. Don't try to change the light level, and never
say your own name out loud, you will wake immediately.
Keep a dream diary and record as much of your dream as you can
remember.

I used to do some requests over at dreamingrequest.blogspot.com,
i'm happy to see another person learning! It's an amazing
experience.
Length, dream control and vividness comes with time. When you can't
do much in them, understand that lucid dream control is based
purely on your schema and belief/expectation. It's a matter of
learning how to manipulate your own beliefs to do what you want.
Without writing a book here (which smarter people than I have done)
an easy beginner trick is to use objects instead. Want to fly?
Drink a flight potion. Want to body swap? pull a body swap machine
from under your bed and use it. Using objects we can place our
belief in helps remove the burden from ourselves..
I'd suggest checking out Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming by
Dr. Stephen LaBerge, it's considered the bible of lucid dreaming.
Are You Dreaming? By Daniel Love is also a great book and goes in
depth on every aspect of learning to lucid dream. Both go into
detail on how to better control your dreams and the nature of dream
control. I'd also be happy to help if you'd like, feel free to
shoot me an email at dreamingrequest@gmail.com.
As barack obrahma said, strong emotion can be a dream killer early
on. Once you're experienced and have much more stable dreams
emotion isn't as bad, but early on try to keep a calm head.
Meditation is something that works wonders for lucid dreaming.
<quote>Don't try to change the light level, and never say your own name
out loud, you will wake immediately.</quote>
Neither of those are true. Any instances of those happening in your
dreams is mistaken expectation or just dream wackiness. Believing
as such will turn it into a self-perpetuating rule though. In
dreams, belief turns into rules.

I have been trying this for a while now, and gotten in contact with
Bucky, and he has done some requests for me, he knows what he is
doing. It is still difficult and I haven't achieved full lucidity
yet. I hope to one day, but it takes discipline and time, neither
of which I have much of. Best of luck!
