I, for one, wasn't "beating" on anyone. Just looking for a good argument against the statement that there clearly IS a spectrum. And I am very willing to admit that the vast majority of people may fall very close to one end or the other. But to say that the middle "doesn't exist" with "oh, those don't count!" is just someone talking with their emotions and without reasoning. Was curious as to the cause of the stubbornness and unwillingness to even accept the possibility.

I knew it was troll-fodder when I posted but I thought CLTG made a good point -- suggesting that too obvious an effort not to misgender someone who has not indicated that they are other-than-cis is just as rude as deliberately misgendering someone. Hey, guessed, ignore kj. I think the older cis dude trying is admirable. I mean, i am not religious, but if something bad happens to a religious colleague, I'm not gonna debate them when they say "god has a plan." Not my place, I'll just nod and be there for them. I'd expect the same for me, although I'm not conflating gender identity and faith. apples and peregrines comparison, you know. Also, glad I'm not too far off about pronouning yuck.
