It looks to be from what I see a lalola variation. I could not find
any info on it if it's just a trailer someone made or if it's a new
show coming out.

OK, this is a quick one so I might as well get it out of the way
now. Indonesia. I think this one was just 13 episodes of about one
hour each at most. Kept the same actor all the way through but
showed the change in reflections in mirrors.
Points for being something different, I guess but it really didn't
grab me. I do remember the very end of the last episode seemed to
be something like everyone getting into different cars and driving
away, leaving our main character alone on the roadside.
Well, that was a bit of a downer.
I'll get a few odds and ends from the other series run through done
and then onto the next one in greater depth. I think I'll do the US
next as that's also quick. As for the next larger one, I found out
some interesting stuff about the Indian version which is quite
unique, so that's the next major stop.

OK, I think we can knock over the US version quite quickly as it's
just one pilot episode. Anyone wanting to see it can find it on
Vimeo.
Here's some of the things worth noting:
1. The job's different. Adam's a sports agent, not a magazine
editor.
2. Adam's not cheating on anybody with anyone. He meets some
mysterious woman who no-one else can see that apparently does this
to him for some reason ... after banging him in a car park.
3. The scene where he has to prove who he is to his best friend
Grace is a lot more comprehensive than how this sort of thing has
gone down in the other series.
4. They actually show the transformation scene. It was just
placeholder special effects which would have been updated had this
gone to series but good enough for the purposes of a pilot. None of
this cutting to a new scene or one actor walking out of shot and
someone else walking in.
5. The let's go shopping for new clothes scene is a lot like Lalola
Portugal and they actually buy practical stuff that's best suited
for the workplace and especially for Adam's situation in that he's
only just found himeself in this situation. Only real exception are
the shoes which aren't flats but even then, not that much of a heel
either. So pretty much just like Portugal.
6. You can see them already setting the building blocks for later
on with co-worker Paul. It's mentioned he has a daughter he shares
custody with. Framed more Mr Everyday genuinely nice guy as opposed
to the usual FACUNDO.
All up, there's some interesting stuff there and it did have
potential.

Which one are you going to do next? India or Peru?
|
From: Air Gear
, 84 months, post #78 |
India because I've mostly worked that one out already and then
because you've been more or less singlehandedly keeping this thread
alive, Peru next. I'll even watch as much as I can find while I'm
doing so even though I don't speak Spanish.

Air Gear, I assure you I, at least, have been religiously following
this thread and appreciate your efforts. I just hadn't been
responding, just watching, so sorry. I'm sure others have been
doing the same. Cheers!

Thanks for the reviews. I look forward to your take on the Chilean
version.
