Femininity In Women Is On The Decline
Page 1 2 3 4
From: guest , 87 months, post #41
guest, is it chauvinist to call a woman "ma'am?" It's getting harder and harder to find "ma'ams" when women dress like men more and more, and yet insist on being called "ma'am."

As for femininity, yes, it is very much on a decline, depending on what is defined. Women are less into "dressing up" and looking female, showing off what they are to others. That includes wearing dresses/skirts, hose, lingerie, even a bit of makeup. I'd enjoy helping a lady who wants to dress the part, even if I have to sit outside the store/dressing room while she changes.

Now, it could be a shift, as with many scifi stories, where women actually wear less than men, dressing is leotard/bodysuit-like outfits... but if women truly want to be women, they should stop hiding the fact they are women. Be proud, and stop trying to be less.

"if women truly want to be women"???? I think this is one the one poster earlier was taking about. The implication that if a women doesn't wear makeup and dresses that she's isn't "truly" a woman???

On the flip side masculinity in men has gone away too. How many guys nowadays work in offices wearing a suit and tie instead of late medieval Europe?full suit of plate armor over a leather gambeson and maille shirt? Can you even be called "sir" if you haven't earned a knighthood by proving your worth on the battlefield from atop your trusty steed?

Men were real men. Women were real women. And small furry creatures from alpha centauri were real small furry creatures from alpha centauri.

(with apologies to Douglas Adams)

@post 47

Wow, that’s probably the most homophobic and sexist thing I’ve seen someone post on this without using broken English. Good job?

Now I don't want to start on a negative or a political route on this site at all, but I think feminism is on the rise on social media so I highly doubt that it will go away anytime soon.

And of course, let's not forget about the infamous #metoo movement where of course is a code for women who are way to afraid of getting sexually raped or insulted by creepy men out their.

What I meant to say was assaulted by creepy men out their instead of insulted. my apologizes.

Becasuse "feminity", "masculinity" and gender roles in general are social constructs, and as such they change and adapt to the social mentality of the times. Only real difference between sexes is biological.

As it should be

Again not to add insult to injury. But thanks to RuPaul, I'm starting to think that drag queens care more about being "feminine" than say Ellen DeGeneres or Jane Lynch.

From: guest , 45 months, post #57
I don't think you know what adding insult to injury means...

I guess that's kind of "jerkish" to say, but does crossdressing and transwoman should be added or seperated in that category?

From: guest , 45 months, post #59
Very agree

I'm assuming you are talking about the "jerkish" comment right?
