Here are a couple of other shape-shifting books I've read
recently...
Last year I posted "Dangerous Clay" by J. Elliot Riley on this
site, and there was a thread about it on the board: Dangerous Clay thread on metamorphose
"Turing & Burroughs: A Beatnik SF Novel" by Rudy Rucker is a weird
"historical" sci-fi book in which the father of modern computing,
Alan Turing, and Beat novelist William Burroughs get turned into
alien shape-shifting slugs and become lovers. There's an
interesting part in the middle of the books where Turing spends a
lot of time as a woman.
The "Agents of Change" trilogy by Guy Harrison features the
secretive Agency of Influence, whose agents (including the
protagonist) can transform into anyone. Quite a bit of
gender-changing, not a lot of sexy stuff going on, but still pretty
interesting.
The "Bartimaeus" books by Jonathan Stroud (fantasy) and the "As You
Wish" books by Mindy Klasky (urban fantasy/romance) both feature
djinns who change form and gender at a whim. Bartimaeus is like a
demon who reluctantly follows the commands of an unlikable Harry
Potter-like master. Teel in the "As You Wish" books is a more
traditional wish-granting genie whose personality depends on the
form s/he is in at the moment.
That's all for now, but I'm on the lookout for more.

Adding a few more books to the list. I'm should really add these as
entries when I have time...
The Impostor by Lily Lang features a woman named Tessa who can
change into anyone... she was working for British government during
the Napoleonic Wars with a group of spies that possess super
powers. (Sounds vaguely like an adult romance version of The
Infernal Devices... with a shape-shifting heroine with the same
name!)
Dangerous Shift is a supernatural romance novel by Jill James. It
is set in a world with human shapeshifters who can change at will.
They are usually oriented toward one gender, though their alternate
gender forms may have different abilities and personalities.
Someone is trying to eradicate these shapeshifters from the planet,
so it's up to a group of shapeshifter cops to try to stop the
genocide. We don't see much of the main character's female persona
(more of his love interest's male persona), but it's still a very
interesting read.
Changeling by Gulliver Noir is a short story (the first part of a
longer story to be published) of Clyde, a "sexologist" who
discovers that some urban legends are real... in this case, the
"Girl with Green Eyes", a sex-starved shape-shifter who can become
the ideal type for anyone. The girl takes several forms, and can
even change into a man... and she begins to have an effect on
Clyde.

After reading this, bought every day, mind jumper and touch. I have
to say I'm dissapointing from a TG point of view, although they're
kind of entertaining as fiction. Having that said, I prefer any
story I can find on fictionmania.
Still haven't found a book like Shifter from Michael Beck...

@james: I can only find that Shifter book on Amazon and only for
Kindle which I don't have. I seems like a really good book. Any
idea where I could find it DRM-free?

Don't know free, but if you purchase you can read it using the
kindle reader web version in your browser

So after seeing this thread pop up again, I finally broke down and
bought "Shifter" by Michael Beck. It's a solid story, but I
wouldn't put it anywhere near the top of any TG story list.
Since it is a $7.00 book, I figured I would at least share where it
falls short for me.
The book is first person and switches the point of view character,
time, and place from chapter to chapter. I found it difficult to
figure out until well into each chapter whether the main character
was in male or female form. It seemed like the descriptions or
indicators of the characters form were lacking and it left me
confused at many times as to what body he was in. The character
seemed to have a main male form and female form, but then could
change into anyone that he or she could touch or had touched. But
the physical descriptions or indicators of who the character was at
any given time fell short for me.
So I was often confused for quite some time in each chapter as to
who the character's identity was at the moment. For me, this made
the tension fizzle with every chapter break until at least 1/4 into
the next chapter when I could figure out who the character was at
the moment and how that fit into the plot.

Does anyone happen to have a copy of the book "Devil may care" by
Cait Emilian? The author made the book free on Amazon as a download
but the book is no longer on there (or anywhere else for that
mater).

know where to find it/or have it?

Did you ever manage to find a copy of "Devil May Care"? I can't
find a copy of it anywhere. I still can't believe it was going for
free too before it was removed. ;-(
