I just read this book. I HIGHLY recommend it, really loved it!
Can someone recommend a book with a similar plot or where the main
character has gender shapeshifting abilities?

I haven't read this book, so I can't say for sure if it has a
similar plot, but there's the two books by Jeremy Kline that deal
with shape shifting characters, Lazarus Cane and Michael Faust. I
think the author was planning on making it a trilogy, but I haven't
heard when/if the third book will be out.

Well basically it's about a young man that has the ability to
shapeshift whenever he wants. He transforms in several women across
the story, so basically I'm looking for something like that.
Or if someone can recommend a good book about bodyswap or magical
transformations that would work too

Offhand, I'd recommend both the in-print Camouflage by Joe Haldeman
and the out-of-print Polymorph (tough to find) by Scott Westerfeld,
both in this site's database.

The Sex Shifters 1 and 2 by D.J. Manly have a similar theme. Good
reads.

Godwalker by Greg Stolze and Everyman by Justin Robinson have
shape-shifting, gender-changing antagonists, but they are somewhat
unlikable (and they aren't quite as good as Shifter).
Ice Song (and its sequel Tattoo) by Kirsten Imani Kasai and the
Magical Shakespeare series by Sarah A. Hoyt (Ill Met By Moonlight,
All Night Awake and Any Man So Daring) have protagonists who change
gender at will, and personality as a result... but they have only
two forms. Two of the recent Wild Cards books, Inside Straight and
Busted Flush, have a primary character whose main form is
male-oriented hermaphrodite, but can change into completely male or
female avatar.
Every Day by David Levithan and Happy Anniversary Cosmic Sponge by
Gregory Charles Erickson have body-hopping (not swapping) entities
that go into men and women and have no bodies of their own. The
character in Every Day (a teenager) wakes up in the body of a new
existing person every morning, while the "Cosmic Sponge" hops
bodies though the act of sex.

"Acquired" by Solar Harris is definitely worth a read. You can get
it on amazon.

I read a few more from kindle store too, but none of them even
close to Shifter.

I don't mind sharing although most books were disappointing to say
the least most have 1 or 2 female possessions. Some don't specify
when they're possesssed but this will be my first time doing
reviews so please bare with me.
Book I just finished Darklings by.Ray Garton:
So the book follows the story of a doctor by the name of Hunt, Tom
a worker at a hospital and hunts girlfriend Julie. The story follow
the premise of Hunt one night having to work on a serial killer who
while dying a black worm like creature comes out of his nose. The
story then follows as strange deaths and homicidal killings start
happening. Which if you haven't guessed from now was caused by the
serial killer coming back for the grave killing people. I didn't
fully read this one wasn't entertaining but from what i got 3
female possessions 2 they don't talk about how they got possessed
and 1 they do.
Also 1-2 male possessions not talked about.
Next book 2. Devil may care by.Cait Emilian
This is a short erotica story about a demon who makes deals with
people but instead of their souls they get to wear the persons skin
for a night. ! female possession near the end waiting on the second
book if their is one.
Book 3: A warm place to call home by Micheal Siemsen
I only read this book because its the first of the 2 i read from
the other i liked the second one but ill write about that one
after.
This book follows the birth of a demon his following in love with a
women him possession her boyfriends body and the problems that
insue.
all in all 1 female possession of a little girl short but well
described.
and 1 male possession.
This was still a good book and worth the read.
Not sure how many words are allowed in a post so i breaking this
into 2

Book 4: The Many Lives of Samuel Beauchamp by Micheal Siemsen
Out of the two I really loved this one although it doesn't have
much changing or multiple possession basically the life of a demon
who is learning and trying to live a normal life of a person that
he possessed and another demon who toys with him.
I believe their are 2 main male possessions and 3 brief male
possessions and 1 main female possession that you find later in the
story and 2-3 brief female possessions.
Book 5: Sexual invasion by. JJ peterser I could have spelt his name
wrong the cover is really small font hard to read.
As you can tell this is another erotica fiction this one follows An
alien invading earth it features 1 good female possession and then
3 female mind controlled.
Wish it would expand more but your basic female on female sex
scenes but not bad if you want the possession only.
Book 6 :Messenger by. Edward Lee
Currently reading this one not sure how i feel so far I got 1
female possession out of it. Lady kills alot of people and her
family. Besides that not much yet.
Books I have yet to read descriptions from Amazon kindle:

3.Demon of the Fall by: R.P. Kraul

history of darkness dating back to the Civil War, when it inherited

4.Good Intentions by: Elliott Kay (Author)
He knew it was a dumb stunt from the start. A midnight run through
a cemetery to impress a couple of girls is hardly the stuff of
legend, but Alex Carlisle longs to escape the crushing mediocrity
of life after high school.
Then he stumbles upon the ritual, and the cultists, and two bound
and bloodied women. Alex intervenes and the ritual blows up in his
face, leaving him bound to them both: Rachel and Lorelei, an angel
and a succubus. It�s hardly the sort of challenge a guy can face
with dignity when he still lives at home with his mom.
Alex never imagined falling for an immortal demon seductress, or
that he�d spend his nights dodging her co-workers, her old boss,
and every other supernatural freak in Seattle. He never thought a

Thougt i post some more books with possession in them.
jim-butcher deadbeat : Soultaker possesses a girls body most of the
book
stephen gallagher = valley of lights Has a protagonist that can
change bodies
neil shustermans - skinjacker triology has a protaginist that can
possess people.
tim powers - the anubis gate havent read yet from what i heard has
a body k=jacking character.
If anyone has found more let me know
