There are sites that ship DVDs from Japan to other countries - I
don't live in Japan and got mine from cdjapan, who had it
reasonably priced and seemed trustworthy. They probably ship to the
US as well. You should be able to play the DVD if you have a
region-free or region 2 player. It is called a different name in
Japanese, but I found it by searching for "Paradox Alice". The
movie is in English (i.e not dubbed) but has Japanese subtitles,
which can be switched off.
Mako has noted on tgcomics that a HD version of the movie is likely
to come out in the US later this year, so you might want to wait if
that is important to you.
The transformation scene and the movie in general was quite good,
but...

just wondering
does the film only have one transformation? I noticed on the IMDB
page that more than one girl is called Alice in the film. I
wouldn't ask if the film had a US date, but it seems to be taking
forever to arrive here

How are the mental changes handled? I love Makos movies but always
felt that aspect was the most underdeveloped part of his films. Is
Jeneta St. Clair convincing as a man dealing with being a woman?

The movie iz his best hands down. If U R a fan of The KISS or The
LAST STANDING this is like those but better cuz its a full blown 2
hr syfy movie. The mental changes are awesome cuz more time is put
into them since itz 2 hrs

the transformation is a mish mash of MAKO's earlier movies also has
a bit of an 'alien' meets 'american werewolf in london' vibe.it's
violent. sexy. and kicks all kinds of transformation ass. one of
the makeup efx guys from the 1st season of FACEOFF did the efx.
