Hi! I just saw Victim in the Seattle, WA screening! I loved it!! It
really had a similar aura as Hitchock's Pyscho in terms of the
creepiness. I think this film will develop a cult following and
will be extremely popular when released on DVD and hopefully
Netflix/Blockbuster sites.
The 'young man's performance as a woman is SO good -- it WAS his
own voice... and in a few scenes I really thought he looked so
beautiful as a woman... what a good transformation. Overall the
film is edited very well - the story was tight, no excessive
torture or long scenes -- just perfect pacing and suspenseful. The
directors did a STELLAR job on this film, which I am sure was
difficult given the controversial subject matter. Kudos Matt
Eskandari and Michael Pierce!

The review is actually by Ambush Bug, a long time AICN contributor.
Last I heard Harry Knowles was still in the hospital after spinal
surgery, finally getting back the use of his legs.

Not a fan of Harry's reviews since he blew my expectations for
Crystal Skull out of proportion but I really feel sorry for the
guys health problems. He (and his website) have really been going
downhill the last five or six years. I wish him a speedy recovery.

A petition is being circulated by Change, org to get the movie
taken off Comcast. People really need to lighten up. the movie is
actually well done and isn't trying to go against TG individuals at
all.

IFC releases their independent films to dvd/digital download about
5-6 months after premiere. So figure sometime in May.

There is a forum, associated with the old irc channel #fictionmania
that does nothing these days but post links to copyrighted
material. I'm surprised it's not more well known. I emailed the
films producers and they told me not to count on it being released
on DVD anytime soon. They're apparently caught up in a legal battle
over the film. Thanks to this web forum I was able to see the film
and realize that waiting for this to be released wasn't worth
waiting for.

Lol i made a thread a few weeks ago to let people know it was out
there :-P
I was actually very impressed. It was about as close to a
fictionmania story as anything mainstream will ever get - listen
out for the subtle tannoy feminisation hypnosis in his cell for
example - whilst maintaining a nice horror feeling :)
I'm sure some people will be very dissapointed but i'm sure that
largely that will be because (perhaps unrealistic) personal
expectations have not been fulfilled, because generally ....it's a
good movie :)

One thing that bugged was, as others has mentioned, her/his
eyebrows. I mean, why was it impossible to give them a little shave
at the same time as her/his beard?

I think there is a fine line in movies, I am open minded but the
themes in this movie are based on abuse, if your a sadist this is
worth watching, I really hope the themes in this movie are not
replicated as the norm in tg, movie making is a part of art and we
have the freedom to take our art as far as we want, but going to
the extreem were it just ends up as abuse and torture towards women
or men is taking things to far, I have to say is this
entertainment? you should have a good look at yourself in the
mirror if you do
