Sitting down for peeing, a humiliation?
From: Forestier , 134 months, post #1
In M2F TG, one can often read what humiliation it is to have to sit down for peeing. Like in this caption . Although that is somehow less practical than being able to pee while standing, is it really a humiliation ?

From: guest (Wassel) , 134 months, post #2
Nope. I don't really get that angle either. Sure there might be some embarrassment about doing something so private with an unfamiliar body part, but I don't see why the actual act of sitting itself would suddenly be humiliating. I don't know about anyone else but I sit down on the toilet every single day. Nothing humiliating there.

never could figure out the 'humiliation' angle of TG fiction.

What humiliation? Maybe in a society where women are chattel or something.

Many men are still excessively proud to be men.

Sitting down to pee is more comfortable. Why stand when you can sit?

From: guest (set3) , 134 months, post #7
It's probably more of an ideological thing. For some men, standing to pee is a so ingrained habit exclusive to men that some may consider it a "step down and thus humiliating to be reduced to sitting". They may feel like they lost a privilege that was stolen from them and in true human fashion in general, people whine when they get their privilege taken away from them wether it's deserved or not.

I certainly wouldn't consider it a humiliation. An annoyance or inconvenience, perhaps... depending on the circumstance of that call... but not humiliation.

From: guest , 134 months, post #9
If you're wearing a skirt or short dress, you can just raise it up and sit down. Maybe easier than having to undo your belt and unzip your zipper while standing.

From: guest (guest) , 134 months, post #10
I know its cognitive dissonance to question the peculiarity of others given that I'd like nothing more in the world than to be able to transform into a female. Nevertheless, that TG fiction co-opts (too often afaic) the humiliation angle - how 'humiliating' it is to be a woman - is a real turn off. There is nothing humiliating about being a woman that doesn't have something to with men enforcing humiliation upon them.

I think when stories and such show a man being humiliated having to pee sitting they are going for a form of humor, which granted, might not appeal to everyone. It's not completely uncommon for some guys to tease their friends about the their (friend's) manhood and one way I've heard them do it is by making some reference implying he has to sit when he pees (because he's not man enough).

Interestingly, I was just reading recently how in Germany, guests are expected to pee sitting so as not to splatter and if they suspect you didn't, there'll be an uncomfortable admonishment afterwards.

With my lousy eyesight and age I'm sure that some people I've visited would rather I urinated sitting. There is still a little chance of urine trickling down the outside of the bowl, but not much.

I really hate getting older, but I like the alternative less.

Maybe at first it would be humiliating, of course more inconvenient....But also, it is said once something is done consistently for two weeks, it becomes a habit

Even being blind, being crippled or experiencing pain?

"Even being blind, being crippled or experiencing pain?"

I think you're trying to make a snarky point, but really you would be surprised how plastic the human brain can be, even in older adults. We're capable of adapting to very extreme circumstances rather quickly. There's a ton of case studies on it if you're inclined.

"... There's a ton of case studies on it if you're inclined."

I'd start reading them, but it might take a few weeks to go through all those papers... and I'd hate for it to become a habit. :-P

Sorry franklin... I couldn't resist that one.

I don't know that your original statement always holds true though... I've often fallen off of behavior modification type changes like diets, workouts, and such. When I get going in them, I can push them for up to a few months before things start to slide or collapse and sometimes I fall right back into old habits and routines. Perhaps I'm just really stubborn... or I'm hard-wired to certain proclivities or comforts. *shrug*

I do however, concede, that consistent and persistent repetition can breed habitual behaviors.

If women can do it on a daily basis, then men would just have to adapt. Not the end of the world. An inconvenience sure but not a tragedy.
