Description
I don't know why, but I was reminded of this book I saw as a little
kid. It's from the 1960's. It's a pop-up book about a king, King
Awkward, who likes magic but isn't good at it. He decides to let
whoever can come up with the best magic trick have his daughter in
marriage. There are several transformations. On one page there is a
picture of the king with a wand looking a bit frustrated while a
little kid in a jester's costume is eating a lollipop, with the
implication that the king accidentally AR'ed his jester. One of the
magicians turns some horses into golden statues. One of them turns
three boys into animals. It's short, and, as I said, I'm not sure
what reminded me of it after all these years.
