Description
Marco the Magician, played by Bill Cosby, did a magic show by
changing word, making a slight change to change the word by
changing one letter. Doing things like changing "Cot" in "Cat". At
the end he said he would do a special trick and turn "Me" into
"Mae". He then waved his wand and there was a poof of smoke, when
it cleared, there was an attractive woman wearing his top hat, who
curtseyed as the audience cheered. It was implied it was supposed
to be stage magic rather than real magic. I think that Marco might
have even returned to the stage to bow with here.
There was also a pop-up book based on this story. In that case.both
Marco the Magician and the woman (named "Miss May") were white. In
the last page, while she was curtsying, he was seen looking out at
her from off stage,
I have a vague memory of this from the early 1970's. I was in 1st
or 2nd grade. I'm pretty sure it was the 2nd season. I did a net
search to fill in some of the info here, but I.couldn't find a link
to the video.
