Description
In the comics Gorilla city is reveled to the world and joins the UN
but the gorilla is killed by an evil group of gorillas called the
Simian scarlet force (I think) who trick
Superman, Wonder woman, Flash and Aquaman to come and talk peace
with the gorilla council. They are ambushed by gorilla forces were
they fire a grenade which turns them and J'onn J'onzz (who was with
them but invisible when they were attacked) into gorillas. Later on
the UN, Green Lantern and Batman are turned into gorillas.
The saga goes though 8 different character annuals in this order I
believe:
JLA Annual #3 (1999), Batman Annual #23 (1999), Aquaman Annual #3
(1999), Wonder Woman Annual #8 (1999), Flash Annual #5 (1999),
Superman Annual #11 (1999), Green Lantern Annual #8 (1999), Martian
Manhunter Annual #2 (1999)
A brief reference to this was made in the Gorilla Grodd Origin from
Countdown to Final Crisis.
